Don't make a big deal out of it. It's just a rating how would you classify and rate Marchisio based on his quality (NOT Juve's current situation).

When you think of what chances Marchisio actually gets to score and the difficulty in the goals that he does score I'd say he was one of the better finishers at the club, especially for midfield, he's wily in that respect. Again, this doesn't take into account his relatively poor long shot.

I mentioned all aspects because if you asked people what they thought of Marchisio in November they'd give higher than they do now. So in short he's a 6/10 player at this moment in mediocre form.

You see, we see him differently but in the end we both rate him the same. I'd maybe give him a 6.5 at the moment as a player overall but I refuse to rate his possible potential to rise since he's not really young at the moment.

To sum it up, I never said he sucks. Even if I did, I meant that in a way to describe how he's underachieving. But IMO his role is vital and it's why I think he's simply not good enough, because we need a player who we'd rate with a 7.5 at least. I don't mind keeping him for instance (and use him as a bench player. Or play him more if we're into 4-3-3), but making him look like a key player (yet some people did point it out that way) is far too much. And on the other hand, a player that's rated that much should not be a captain here and that's the reason of my 'no' to his captain armband. Not just that, but he doesn't look like a leader. And finally, that 'bashing' for his new contract are exactly the same. I refuse to believe player of his level at this very moment deserved 2.5mln/year when he was even underachieving and when he wasn't vital for this team.

However, I think your ratings are fairly right. I just don't see why is somebody that rated being hailed so much, which was pretty much my focus on Marchisio.

he can reach as high as an 8 but he is inconsistent,and playing on a 6 most of the time,so I would rate him 6.75 out of 10..I truly believe he can ply much better though, use him in a 4-3-3 and he will show his 8/10 more consistently

Maybe sometimes, but it looks weird most of the time. I don't see why people say he's a key player for us. Or I don't get it how they say he's a future captain, nor how he deserves those wages at this point. Those talks are kinda too much and exaggeration for a player that's rated like 6-7.

I guess people say all of that stuff because they are seeing his potential as something he might get because he has shown it like a couple of times each season. I do agree he's inconsistent, but atm I see no reason to be optimistic about him and that's where opinions cross-pass.

Sounds too rough.

He did show it, but it has always been a minority of matches and something that's easily and quickly forgotten because he goes missing in the next 3 matches. I just don't see him becoming consistent and stepping his game on such a bigger level. I don't think consistency can be gained, so his impact will be average.

Ohhh they did he's a key player and one of the best we have right now. Yes, we had 6-7 players back in the days, but you know what... they were kinda on the bench, and that's exactly my point. After the strongest team we had, we only had Zebina who's weaker.
