you cannot SUSTAIN success like that, especially in the current money-dominated world of club football.

you don't pay what the players feel they deserve, they will leave.

Samp also had a fairytale season last year, look how they ended up...hell Napoli should know.
So you pay them higher to play better? You don't know how the motivation system works.

If you double their wages you get what? Nothing. He feels nothing at the moment that he needs to prove, now that he has this contract. You give them a pay raise once they deserve, and Marchisio was/is far from being in that category.

Your logic makes sense if we're talking about key players that are being wanted by Real Madrid or some other club. Well, you know what, Marchisio isn't that. He was just one of the players who underperformed.

you pay them better to secure their future at the club and for continuity, especially when it comes to younger players with their best years ahead of them...not so hard to understand.

he was in a dogshit contract and considering his value to the club, deserved better.

the whole squad has not delivered, singling him out is wrong, and even then he has been one of our better players.

That is the truth though. Not once have I seen someone complain about how much Aquilani made this season.
You will hear many complaining if we end up signing him with those wages.
It's one thing to sign a good player for 3m eur salary and he flops. It's one thing to sign someone for 3m eur salary, he plays great and asks for higher wages. You give them to him.
But it's a completely another thing to have some player in the team and out of the blue you offer him a new fat contract which he didn't deserve.

Regardless Aquilani is a done deal. We're going to sign him for 10m+.

Not to mention the wages.

Marchisio was free. He cost us 0 to acquire.

So when has he ever been noticeably good? 4 years ago when he broke into the Roma first team?
He was highly rated than Marchisio for sure and, most important, he's a loan. We didn't pay for his transfer and we simply inherited his wages. It's not like it was Juve who offered him those wages.

Thank you but they won't get it as they see God in him.

They can't take the Juve goggles off.
