lol, actually performs?

how many goals has he scored from MF this season?
Is that how you judge a player's overall performance? How many goals he's scored...

Look Im not saying he's not a good player and that we should let him go. I believe he can improve than what he's been performing lately but to extend his contract with 3 years left on his current deal and when he's not having the best of seasons certainly gives a bad signal to our other players, don't you agree?

JBF, this discussion is real dead end. His fanboys shows up and defends him with idiotic arguments like "he is a bandiera" and "A Juve-boy". IMO he shouldn't be anywhere near Chiellini's wages.

Might as well set me and Dusan on Juve-payroll because we are "Juventinos"
answer my question, don't troll.

he's having a better season than most, he is a key player, and he feels (and rightly so) that he should be rewarded better.

nothing wrong with that.

every single player on this team can improve, I don't see you throwing a bitch fit over their wages.

He has assist/goal every 400 minute. Is that good?

Aquilani is bashed week after week but he's more productive, not much but he is. Yet Marchisio is being hailed for not showing up for 60 minutes in so many matches.

So how many goals did he score this season? 5? So anyone who scores 5 goals a season should be set on 2,5 mln wages?
He shouldn't be anywhere near Chiellinis wages, HE is the one who bleeds for the shirt and will be the future capt. Unless Mr Invincible starts picking up his performance he shouldn't get higher salary.

Relax, folks. Nobody knows what he'll make - more rumors. Let's wait and see. He does deserve more than 1M, IMO.

No, he's not worth as much as Chiello. However, I would argue that in most big clubs, Chiello would be making more than 2.5M (regardless of how this season comes across, the guy is quality and has been recognized as such with some hardware), so that's a hard number. I think 2M would be just about right for Marchisio. Wouldn't limit our ability to move him if necessary, and if he outperforms it, Juve could renegotiate later.

Aquilani makes over 3M, we still owe 16M on him, and he's not ours. I know you don't think Aquilani is giving us 3X Marchisio's production.

I also think that if you look at both threads, you'll find more hate here than on Aqua's (more love too).

Aquilani's form has dipped significantly, so he will rightly be criticised.

as for 'hailing' Marchisio, surely you have not missed the past few pages in which he is being blasted to the high heavens?

even when he played well vs. Genoa recently people were having a go at him.

2 wrongs don't make a right.

That's just not true.

Because what's done is done. I can't bitch about Amauri's wages coz they won't suddenly change unless he switch clubs, but had there been a rumor of the management extending his contract after those EL performances of his where he scored a couple of goals earlier in the season, I would have bitched no doubt.

Im amazed you're blinding yourself not to see the facts here, no matter how much you love this player you should look at it from a reasonable perspective.

your previous post mentioned how stating that he's a bandiera or "Juve through and through" is a poor argument.

and then you come up with "bleeds for the shirt"

Marchisio has never played like Aquilani did for Roma where he actually showed his quality.

Aquilani's thread is full of hate while this one has roses all over with. Only recently he's getting critics, rightfully so.

Season 2010/2011

3154 minutes - 4 goals and 4 assists

Season 2009/2010

2786 minutes - 3 assists and 3 goals

Season 2009/2009

2373 minutes - 2 assists and 3 goals

Yes, very impressive. Explain how is he a key player for us really?

I obviously mean on the pitch. We can actually see that Chiellini gives everything and he have saved our ass so many times this season. Marchisio? Mehh..

Key player  Good one. Post it in the joke-thread.

I AM looking at with a reasonable perspective, you are the one being overly final in your analysis.

2.5M is chump change even for someone like Chiellini, any other league in the world and he could command 2 maybe even 3 times that salary.

if you don't reward your top players, they will leave, it has been seen plenty of times before.
