Marchisio is the only Juventus-product that I'm certain will not be sold, and will become a great player eventually. There's something about him that makes me believe he has the potential to become a future superb midfield general and Bianconeri-captain.

Sadly, I think Giovinco will become overlooked and not be able to release his potential. I could be wrong though, in which I will get a positive suprise, but I think that he'll become somewhat of the Mathieu Valbuena of italian football. Only slightly better at everything, ofcourse.

NO WAY someday Italy will lose Del piero and Totti... and there will be only the likes of Giovinco and Rossi and i don't see Cassano as the best Italian player.... so u will only have this 2 and Giovinco is more more more more talented than Valbuena and there is better players in France in his place... but Giovinco is the best in his position.. and we are JUVENTUS FOR GOD SAKE maybe we became overlooked in the last 3 years because of the calciopoli and we still suffer from it and i mean the whole Team not only Giovinco. still it depends on our image....

any way Giovinco is way too good to be overlooked...

imo Giovinco is already better than several starters for Italy. HE should be playing for the national team even if he is not a full starter at Juve because Lippi called players like Iaquinta and Camo when they were not playing.

He starts ppl like Quag and Pepe... I think Giovinco should be playing instead of them because he can do more on the field.

Lippi has called Vinnie from his Udinese days, and same with Camo since he came to Juve...Seba has a lot more to do until he can get the call up

It's not Seba's fault he never gets chances on the pitch.

There's no reason Lippi should be fielding crap like Pepe even if Giovinco doesn't start for Juventus.

Indeed. :agree: Hopefully, Ferrara can really make full use of this talent he has in hand ...

If there is someone Lippi must call up to bring the much needed spark, at the moment, its Antonio Cassano.
I dun know what Pep and Quag have done at club level to receive so many Italy caps, even the best Udinese player last season (D'Ago) only has 1 senior cap to his name esp with Pirlo playing rather badly lately ...

it certainly isn't and he would be within his right to demand a move away from Juve if we don't give proper opportunities this term...as for Signor Lippi, I think the Confed. Cup was the kick in the ass he needed to get the team right

imo Lippi should make Giovinco and Marchisio fixtures in the Italy starting 11 by the time the WC comes around. They might not have the experience of the older boys but they will add alot of desire and spark to a lethargic looking team.

Cassano should be playing based on his form but if Lippi hates him that much and will never call him then Giovinco should be playing as he is the best young creative attacking player Italy has.

If he played for most other countries he would at least be in the squad regardless of his playing time. Lie Walcot has been in the England squad for a long time now and he is younger then Giovinco and was not playing at Arsenal when he was called.

Also Lippi has depended on certain fixtures of the team for so long but Italy have few young players to be fixtures for the future in the squad. I really think that the Italy team would benifit with Marchisio and Giovinco in the squad along with Santon, Santacroce and Criscito .. ahead of the likes of Gamberini, Dossena, Pepe and a few others. Those players are good but not great and a team like italy should call up its best players no matter what their age is.

Lippi acts like he does not take age into account but he is biased.. not against the old players like many would expect but against the young players. Like I am all for sticking with proven and important players and keeping ppl such as Pirlo, Canna and Grosso in the squad but the peripheral mediocre players need to be cut out and the young stars need to be given a shot at competing with the older ones regardless of what the older guys have done in the past. A coach should always be looking ahead to the future.

I wouldn't stop at just Seba and Marchi...Bocchetti Balotelli and Motta should be there as well...something like:

Buffon (c)

Motta - Bocchetti - Chiellini - Zambrotta

Marchisio - De Rossi - Pirlo

Giovinco - Iaquinta - Balotelli

Yeah they should all be called up to the squad. Bocchetti is great. I dont know about all of them starting cuz the team chemistry would suffer alot and it is only a year leading up to the WC. It is hard ocnsidering they only meet a few times a year.

I think Canna will keep his place because he is captain but if he does not perform Santacroce and Bocchetti should be on the bench to replace him with Buffon taking the armband. Leggro and Gamberini should not be ahead of youngsters who are already as good or better than them.. they offer the squad no future. Lippi says the team needs continuity but how can the team have that in the end when the whole team is the same age pretty much and will all finish at the same time. There need to be youngsters behind the older players waiting to take their place.. not more old players.

With regards to motta starting. He is good but I think Santon is a better player and is more consistant ( Lippi probably does too seeing how he actually brought him to the tournament) I think Zambrotta and Grosso should be squad members but only play if they are in form. If not Santon/or Motta and Criscito can take their places respectively.

Balotelli, Giovinco and Rossi are the 3 best young attacking players Italy have and they will be the starter probably at the world cup in 2014 so it owuld make sense to at least have them as part of the team now... they are much better than Quag, Pepe and Camo at this point.

like the squad should be something like this:

-----------Buffon/ 2 other goalies who wont ever play-------------

Santon/Zambro--Canna/Santacroce---Chiellini/Bocchetti--Grosso/Criscito

Marchisio/Rino---Pirlo/D'Ago----De Rossi/Aqulilani

---------------Giovinco---------------------------------
Balotelli/Amauri/Iaquinta--------------Rossi/ Di Natale

That would be a very competitive team in every position forcing the starting 11 to up their game, would drop the avg age alot and would prepare the team for the future with young players coming to the fore as starters and squad players.

This does make sense, but to make it happen Lippi should be fired :)
