Why? It means at least one average player up front, and Vucinic/Giovinco not in their preferred SS role.

Marchisio's technique has improved alot and him freed up could create.

Vucinic would play on the left like last season where he did so well. And the 4-3-1-2's narrow midfield would limit Pirlo and even make him a liability.

Would be interested to see him play AM in a 4-3-1-2. Get Asa and Vidal to boss the midfield.

He did play in such a system, it was with Italy, I think at the WC2010. I know, it was 2 years ago and a terrible moment, but he sucked at that position. He's at his best in a 4-3-3.

That was a 4-2-3-1 with Camorenesi, Dinatale and god knows who else... plus he's improved out of site from those days.
Either way, it's not like 4-3-3 was anything special last season. Italian teams have rarely done well in that formation. It would be worth doing some experimenting though, since top3 in Serie A won't be a problem.
