He wasn't bad. He was playing Vidal's role in the second half, where he had to cover for Giaccherini. Not an easy job to do in a 3-5-2 next to Pirlo.

People don't see that, Giaccherini didn't track back, Marchisio was staying behind to do the cover even if in the second he was clearly tired, this was his 3rd game in 1 week, his passes were all on target too.

If Giach help the defense a bit it would be far better.
We relied on Marchi alone in defending the midfield since Pirlo looks a bit shaky in defending and Giach too focus on attacking.

considering his fitness, he should be the one resting today, puzzles me.
He is not as needed as Vidal and a midfield of Marrone, Pirlo and Giaccherini is too weak. So it make good sense to rest Vidal ahead of him.

And do we know what his fitness level is? I mean shouldn't we trust that the Juventus staff knows a bit better than us, whom to rest?
