I was expecting someone to say something like that, but he hasn't really won that much in South America and never won a (senior) international tournament.
lol ask any brazilian about Roman, and to tell you how much he won, he won more international trophies than river plate has in all of their history, once again just coz you didnt witness it doesnt mean it never happened.

You've mentioned that.

How many league titles has he won in his career? Very few for such a talented player.

Again though, he's a player I've always enjoyed watching.

Edit: I meant international as in national teams btw.

last time he captained argentina in the WC they played their best football ever, and were well on his way to the semis until he got subbed. Again tourneys like WCs require a lot of luck both in circumstance and cast.
oh and btw if winning a major title was any indication of talent and use of that talent, juventus would be the most amazing team ever.

I agree, Argentina were actually a really good side with him. Since he left, they still haven't recovered as a team.

You've seen every game Argentina ever played?

Keeping in mind that:
the notable teams the ones that won the cups in 78(home cup) and 86 were nothing special, besides obviously maradona, the 06 side was on a different level the way they trounced serbia and the argentine way to boot. You're welcome to bring a counter example.

I'd absolutely love Marchisio to be good enough to start for us but he simply isn't if we have any ambition.

We now have a superior player in Vidal and if Marchisio starts over him only because he's a youth product, it doesn't make any sense whatsoever.
