Marchisio vs Nocerino
Games played - 24 vs 31
Games started - 20 vs 23

I believe Nocerino and Marhisio are fighting for the back up role in Juventus 2008/09, and in stats Noce has a huge lead given what competition for starting places are at Juventus and at Empoli. But Antonio didnt impressed much this season, and i think that board are willing to give a fair chance for Marchisio, though, he too hasnt been much better this season.

you forget to mention that Marchisio was a starter for us in Serie B and gave some very solid performances...

Lets also not forget that Nocerino wasn't made a starter because he was so good, but more because Almiron and Tiago were deemed so terrible.

Marchisio was a stud in Serie B, has been excellent for Empoli and is more complete than Nocerino.

As far as i know, relegation strugglers dont bench excellent players, and Marchisio have started nearly just every second game this season. I`m not a fan of Empoli, and ive seen 5 games of them (4 against us and one against Milan) this season, so i may be wrong, but if u look just at his statistics, these unregular performances and few assists dont really convince about Marchisio development in Serie A. So im undecided wether he must play with us next season. And so am i about Noce case.

In the four Empoli games I've seen, Giovinco, Marchisio and Vannucchi were a cut above the rest significantly, however its very hard to be a good player on a poor team. I think Marchisio was a victim of that and coaching more than his own play being poor. Is he world class? not by a long shot yet, but the guy can definitely play.

I've watched almost all of empoli's games this season (just to watch our players :spliff: ). Marchisio certainly did not impress me, i've expected him to do much bitter this season. Giovinco is clearlly the best player in empoli, other players (youngsters) that impressed me in that team r mainly milan's players (abate and pozzi)..........

I should say I did expect better from Marchisio. He's not totally dominant like Giovinco (who still got benched a few times for mind-boggling reasons) but he's still one of their best players, excellent by Empoli standards, but mediocre by Juventus standards. Perhaps that's why Empoli is en route to B?

I would agree that Abate and Pozzi could be in that group with Giovinco, Vannucchi and Marchisio. I still see promise in Marchisio though.

Loved this player ever since his debut as starter away at Napoli (in a stadium which intimidates most players). Was never phased and put in a great performance.
