Pogba-Marchisio-Vidal is the way forward.

Pirlo is a legend but I don't think we should extend his contract now that we have a clear alternative with Marchisio performing well as the anchor. We thus look much more solid defensively and if we can sing quality wingers, they'll fill the creativity void Pirlo's absence will create.

I wonder how this would've looked in Europe with the 352 and Marchisio playing Pirlo's role. He's been amazing in defense, and while he doesn't have Pirlo's vision, he's allowing both Vidal and Pog to play higher up the field than they would alongside Pirlo. I like this, but I just hope Conte doesn't get married to this idea and act stubborn about continuing with this at the cost of bringing in wingers to give us an alternate formation.
