Pretty disappointing game from him. Not that Pogba was setting the world afire before his goal too though. I think if the game have had ended as a draw, all our mids would've gotten low ratings, instead of only him.

“Claudio Marchisio played well at a high intensity for 60 minutes and has been a regular this season, so I opted to give him a slight rest in the second half. I’m convinced he’ll soon be back to the old Marchisio.”

Conte admitting that Marchisio's out of form.

i honestly think it's the formation more than anything. in the 3-5-2 he doesn't have as much room to move as he did in the 4-3-3. then he would link with the wingers and fullbacks, all of them running into different spaces and marchisio is a smart player so he can make the most of it.

so is he limited to certain formations? yeah, but most players are. to get the best out of him, we need 4-3-3.

He is not out form. This is his regular form. His freak performances in 2011/2012 was,him being out of form since he was actually good then

Knew this would pop out sooner or later.if it is not the formation excuse, it.s usually because the coah ordered him too.

Yet somehow if the other pkayers dont show show, the "coach ordered him to" excuse is never used

Is it really that simple? Or it just might be that most of the people here have overestimated this guy and now the cruel reality is what they're facing. I was never particularly fond of him, but never hated him as well. I might joke here now and then, but the fact is when he's out there on the pitch I want for him to have the best possible game that one could have. Tonight he's been disappointing. He can do better than this and there will be occasional games where he might score, assist, or contribute more in some other way, but he'll probably never be a consistent performer. Reality.

the coach wouldn't order someone to play below-par. he's not suited to our team because it doesn't make use of his best attribute which is his brain. he knows how to run, where to run, and is very tactically intelligent. the 3-5-2 is too one dimensional and he's left doing only one thing, and he's not particularly fast, or strong, or good at dribbling etc to succeed anywhere you put him.

he was over-hyped after that season, no doubt about it. i mean people were saying he was better than vidal. top 3 midfielder in the world and all that nonsense. people still think we can get 25-30 million for him which is ridiculous.

Even more ridiculous is that some of them wouldn't even sell him for that amount. Here's the thing. Marchisio prior to 2011/12 was a rather mediocre football player. Some of that has to do with a fact that Juve struggled in that period, but what was Marchisio's role? Was he the best of the bunch or just another player who fitted in an overall mediocrity of that period? I've always seen him as a type of player that will perform relatively good in a functional and well organized side, but not the one that will raise the overall quality and bring any top team to another level. As of late he can't even do that first part. Unfortunately.
