Juventus, wether we like it or not, can only get so far with senior player transfers. We cannot compete with the richest teams. We are putting alot of time and efford in our primavera, and signing players for it. And the continessa project, will bring a new academy and training grounds for them (alongside many other things)

How does one attract the best youngsters in italy ? By showing how they'll get sold ? No, they need a rolemodel. A player that shows you have a future at juventus, that you can make it into the first team, comming from the primavera.

Marchisio is that person. He is MUCH better then most people give him credit for (at least defensively) and a true icon for many juventus fans in italy.

Marchisio is world class in therms of tactical reading of the game and anticipating. He's just no bulldozer like essien, or has an endgame like Lampard.

There is a reason they offered 30 mil for him. Thats alot for a midfielder
Youth products are sold left and right, nothing new. We don't have to prove shit to youngsters, our name speaks for itself; kids will continue to join whether we sell His Holyness the Ghost Marchisio or not, let's not be ridiculous. 30 million for him is day light robbery. We need to sell and buy a decent striker with that money.

I don't see Barca fans crying over Iago or Bojan the way Juve fans cry over Gio and Marchisio.

Because Iago, Bojan and Giovinco are not comparable to Marchisio.

Barca has plenty others like Puyol, Xavi, Iniesta, Pique, Busquet. that's why they don't cry over Iago and Bojan. Marchisio is the only one we got, no one is crying over De Ceglie or Marrone but Marchisio sets precedent for the Primavera. and 30 million for him isn't robbery, there is going to be plenty of teams in EPL and other leagues who can afford that. Football is other countries generate considerable revenue nowadays, something we can't compete with hopes of selling to raise money. If Chelsea or ManCity desperately want Jovetic for instance they can easily beat our 30 million offer. It's just that they are after better players like Isco and Cavani.

30 million for Marchiso can just be re-invested in Lamella. One of the reasons we didn't do 4-3-3 is because we lack right wingers since Pepe is injured. I would much rather have Lamella fill that spot than having Marchisio in Centre mid. Pogba and Asamoah can easily fill Marchisio's spot.

And if Zidane was there, what would he have done?

They're different players. Vidal slide tackles, Claudio doesn't. Why should be try to be Vidal?
Nonsense. You'll even see Pirlo tracking back and making tackles when he needs to. That's modern football. You attack as a team, you defend as a team.

asamoah, giach, pepe and padion r fine
I would really like to see Asamoah back in his natural position but I don't see that happening unless a LW signing is made or our formation changes.

there remain a fair few supporters who at least agree with my assertion that of all our major assets,
claudio is the most obvious to sell IF
we are considering an attempt to sign
not just one world class attacker but
two. It’s a massive IF, with the likelihood
been that we pour the majority of our
transfer kitty into one of higuain/tevez/
jovetic, also pick up a lwb(kolarov/
coentrao) with ogbonna and Lodi
signed with player exchanges and small change. Possible sales-
Matri 8-12m
Quags 6.5-10m
Vucinic 7-12m
( 1-2 of the above will be sold)
Melo 5-8m De ceglie 1-2m
Co-own and youth sales could bring in
between 5-10m at most. We have
valuable stakes in boakye/gabbiadini/
immobile. These values more likely to
be retained or used in player exchanges. If we wish to sign more than one top
player in attack, we need to sell a
major asset. Claudio would be first in
line…his form last season was below
11/12 campaign. Flaky for Italy. Pogba
and asamoah could both potentially play in his role(or move to vidals role
with the chilian moving to the lcm
area). I doubt it will happen, but don’t see
any other first xi player who could be
replaced by two other very solid
options in our squad. (asamoah could
finally play in his natural role if we had
a true, quality lwb).

at the same time... Whilst he is far from a natural leader
and has always had a tendency to
sporadically fail to impose himself on
a game, he is a very popular home
grown player whose respect for the
management and club as well as his high level of technical ability make
him a useful player to have on our
books… Nevertheless, if Monaco offered 30m,
I’d bite their hand off!

Not to mention how it's freaking Marchisio. He can be replaced so easy.

I love it, looks like a poem. We miss you, Lo-pan buddy.
Haha! It's not intended as a poem format, in on holiday, using my mangled iPhone 3g running whited00r, cracked screen, decrepit hardware...sampling opera mini. Anyway, it's interesting to see others of a similar opinion, although i doubt the prettyboy prince will be sold...
