Diego and Camo started in the 4-3-1-2 in games against Chievo, Lazio, Bologna, and Palermo all of which regardless of the result, Juve gave sub-par performances. Just pointing it out, but I do agree that Camo is important to our team and the offense at times may be overdependent on him.

Did you see how we looked when Diego played in front of 3 DMs and no Camo? And no, Marchisio ain't gonna fix shit in Camo's absence.
Why are you addressing this to me like I disagree, when I am simply talking about the importance of Momo?

I was the one who was saying Camo should allways start over Marchisio few months back when Camo was considered to be "bad" by some around here. I hardly think that would change with me now he he has been ridicolously amazing.

Buffon is > God, yes, but not irreplaceable in the short term. And Momo really does change our dynamics, I think he's our 2nd most important player, we've done well enough at times without him. But, we are really toothless in attack without Camo and we will always suffer without him.
Nonsense. he is irreplaceable in the short term. To find another keeper of his class, in the short term would be virtually impossible. He has single handledly turned wretched team performances into draws or victories, several times this season, not just for us, but also for the azzurri...Only Cassilas and Cech come close to him, and on his form this season, Santo Buffon is back to the pinnacle as the world's best.

Especially when our team is not flowing perfectly, in sound form, keeping Buffon fit and starting is ESSENTIAL, to any serious challenge at home and in europe, for glory.

Momo is incredible, and adds massively to the whole dynamic of our team. he is the Lynchpin...and as for Camo, true enough, his form so far this season has been high quality, long may it continue...but Diego is adapting slowly but surely, to italian football, and to our team, and I would assume that by the end of the season, the brazillian will be our most consistent creative force.

Right now however, it would be tactically inept to replace Camo with Marchisio. Take out our most in form Creator, and put in his place, an all round midfielder???

Dont get me wrong, I have very high hopes for Marchisio. and I expect him to share the 2 defensive positions with Momo and Melo, but also, replace Camo and Gio when they get crunched or are suspended or if Diego improves, and Ciro decides more muscle and support on the right flank is needed, defensively, against a certain opponent, when Camo's form has drooped...The fact is, distribution and creativity wise, the argie rat has been our finest player so far this season. Without any doubt whatsoever...

I think we can survive 2 or 3 games without Gigi (short term). Btw, Casilas and Cech do NOT come close to Buffon. They're not even 2nd and 3rd in the world, imo. Cesar and Frey are better. Cech really isn't that great anymore.

Julio Cesar is damn close...Casillas is just lame, gets the chance to make those spectacular swan dive saves due to the piss-poor Madrid defence

What does Madrids defence has to do with Casilias goalkeeping abilities? I mean you can say the same about Buffon too, sometimes he makes those saves because our defence makes mistakes. Although I do agree that Casilias def organizing skills isnt up to par with Buffons.

In terms of shot stopping, positioning HIMSELF, anticipation, bravery...I havent seen any better, over the last 5 years, than Buffon, Cassilas and Cech...Agreed, Chech is currently, and has been for a while, struggling for form, but so was Buffon last season, in between, and whilst carrying, injuries...Im talking about not just the league performances, but also in europe, and for their countries. And I don't yet rank Cesar as one of the world's greatest, or Frey for that matter. On their way to that group, but not there yet. Cech has bought himself some time with the performances of recent years...

Cech has been 'off form' for over a year now. He's never got close to the level he was at before he had his head caved in.

Before which he was world class for a year or three...He hasn't been the same since Hunt crunched him. Still, he did enough beforehand to prove to me that he had world class talent, which he could display week in week out.

I am tempted to include brad friedel in that group, as I have seen him on countless occasions singlehandedly deny opposition a goal. Perhaps solely his shot stopping skills are world class, but there is no doubting how effective he has been over the last 5 years in the premership. Not sure about the rest of his game, but reflexes, fitness, strength, bravery, concentration...he can perform at an extremely high level.
