we conseeded 2 scrappy goals....it wasnt theyr day(defenders), pitty that the match ended so, after those great saves from buffon in the first half....
zambro should be back for second leg...hopefully full fit....
still, we could be in worse situation....like chelsea is....
i just hope something what happened with liverpool doesnt happen again...we really need to go out with a win and a good attacking play....

this was another lacklustre game...as i said midfield didnt give enough support to our forwards...
and well how the f-ck we let in 2 goals in the last 10 minutes after we scored our 2 goal what was very well taken by trez...
the last goal came off dp(corner and bremen player headed it to left post where dp was standing...so maby it was even owngoal....
but i mean the thing that we couldnt keep our lead..... buffon had so good game and he really didnt deserv that kind of ending....
we where missing zambrotta and something was not going right in the midfield also...you cant win all with 4-4-2

This is our most embarrising loss all season- against Bremen whom just recently lost at home to Kaiserlautern- who hold a staggering 20 points in the bundesliga. In other words, relagation fodder.
Anyway, the match:
In the first half Bremen played well, but the match could of easily went in our direction. Buffon pulled off a number of good saves (special mention to the world class save from the header from Bremens corner). Zlatan, was pathetic, needless to say, and Del Piero simply needs to play and we need to sell Zlatan whilst the rest of the world thinks he is actually worth something. It is an insult to all strikers that this guy calls himself a striker looking at his finishing and awareness in goal. He almost hit the cornerflag on a one on one with the keeper and did the worst pass to Trezeguet on a 2 on 1 situation.
Other then that, Viera had a chance, but the keeper did well. The second half was going fantastic for us- 2-1 up, fantastic passes from viera, and then sloppy defending again (as our first goal was conceded, even though the pass leading up to it was superb) was what cost us. This defence is hardly water tight. This is a job Capello needs to solve.
Anyway,
Buffon: 7- Some awesome saves, but perhaps could of done something more in the last goal. Hardly his fault though, great all round game.
Cannavaro- 5. Solid at times, shakey at others. His height let him down and it seemed he let too many headers go. At indirect fault for goal no.1
Thuram- 5.5 Slightly better than his counter part, but not authentic Thuram.
Balzeretti- 5.5 Nothing worth noting, a mixture of positives and negatives. Seemed ineffective going forward and made a few errors in defense.
Blasi- 5 For his standards anyway. I noted about one or two sucessful tackles during the match, but overall pretty poor.
Viera- 6.5 Great passing, fighting for chances and the ball, not to blame so much for this loss.
Emerson- 6 See viera, but to a lesser extent
Nedved- 6 Nice goal with the feint, lucky to be on the pitch, queit at times.
Camo- 5.5 Did pretty much nothing all game. Tried, but it was not his day
Trez- 6.5 Good leap on the goal, pounced on the defensive error.
Zlatan- 4 Unforgivable to cock up that many chances, espacially as a striker.

great review there Dan, do you agree that something was missing in the midfield, i mean bremen had so much more posetion in the first half....
did we miss mutu in your opinion? imo something was just missing, the balls didnt go to our forwards, something strong was missing....
i think neddy or mutu should have played in AM position to hold and give pressure to bremen defens....also to give more balls/passes to trez and ibra....but well we now cappy...4-4-2 always....

I think Blasi was class and made few mistakes. Ibra was very bad and those chances he wasted were unforgivable but he was a vital link between our midfield and offence at least in this game. i blame Don Fabio for substuting Zlatan (our link between midfield and offence in that game).I would have played with the Capitano instead of Trez and pushed Mutu a bit forward than usual and played with Zlatan in Kaka's role. And for not pushing Mutu in for Camo instead of putting Zalayeta. The game was very good and the worst part was that we could have won easily. If Zlatan and Vieira would have scored their chances you have been saying that Juve was awsome.we were unlucky to conced from set pieces and lazy not to score those chances. Dont let winning blind you and loss break you because it always happens on this forum.
in the end, we missed creativity in the midfield....and please dont say we where lucky to come back with this result...

bremen has one of the weakest defensis and we really should have been more then 2-1 up when trez scored...
if we would have attacked and shoot more you never know...i mean just look those stats, shots on goal and even wide shots....
Also i didnt like we made so many mistakes, and dangerous ones, nedved and vieira really where lucky to be on the pitch 90 minutes...

mutu got injured in the training, thats why he didnt play....
imo nedved should have been playing as a AM behind our strikers....we should not have used typical 4-4-2, but something like 4-3-1-2

No mate i disagree. We didnt need to create or attack more we only needed to score the the chances we'r given to come out on top of this. This game shows that Juve is a great team. Leaving the others in possesion till they are tired is our style check our games in serie a. We had more dangerous chances than they did. They had controle yes but how many actuall goals did they waste apart from the two saves by Buffon ? we had more dangerous chances and we only needed to convert them. They kep shooting from outside the box because they were unable to penetrate us. an at the end they scored from set pieces.

i dont know....cap should maby teach our players how to waste time...when trez scored we should have waste time maby, kept the posetion and hold the ball as much as possible....that shows how we underestimated them...well ofcourse it doesnt happen often, but well our last game in seria a was also draw and also late goal from opponent....

OUR MISTAKE: Choosing our objective in this game, which was to prevent Bremen from scoring.
MY JUSTIFICATION: Their defense was clearly powder-puff, something which we could easily break down.
SUMMARY:
I can't believe we were only to score two goals past a clearly incapable Bremen defense.
Clearly, Capello wanted to prevent Bremen from scoring which was evident from our defensive stance in this game.
Why didn't we go out try to outscore a team with this kind of defense? !
Why were we so cautious in conceding goals when this is in fact an "Away" game which means it is more important to score dozens of goals which will count a lot when we bring it back to Turin in a fortnight.

first half we had like 2 or 3 chanses(camo hit crossbar and vieira one on one with gk and zlatan also with gk) first half, bremen gk was tested only once because ibra shot was totally missed, gk didnt save it, he just hit it to left and totally out...
and saying this game shows how great juve is????..... i expected a 2-1 win atleast or well maby a draw, i knew they are dangerous and i expected them to score....but to f-ck up our lead so late.....well that shows we where almoust sure about winning the game and maby even overconfident....

I mentioned those chances but infront of them we had at least 5 golden chances to score and only used 1 of them because i dont consider Trez goal as team produced chance. Yes in the first half they could have scored 2 or 3 instead 1 but we could have scored 2 instead of 0. Our mistakes were simply not using our chances. Their goals came from set pieces and there isnt much more you can say about that. we should have taken the position a bit more in the 2nd half and thats why i said i blame Don Fabio for pulling out Ibra although he was a very poor finisher. Once again we were unlucky or to be more precise Don Fabio was unlucky but in my opinion his tactics for this game was very good. We had more dangerous chances they werent able to penetrate us. We tactically won today but its our players judgment specialy Vieira and Ibra who let us down and the coach cant do much about it. we should pay more attention to the set pieces next time because its starting to become an annoying problem.
