Nah, Werder Bremen can't nearly defend as well as Liverpool could last season. Bremen won't hold us to a 0-0 draw.
That is you suppose they can't. However Liverpool didn't hold us to a 0-0 draw because they defended so well. They held us to a draw because we simply didn't attack. We played a couple of long balls and hoped for a mistake. That was our game plan. Had we simply gone on an all out attack in the first half, we would have won the game.

I sincerely hope we don't make the same mistake.

No, wait, I sincerely hope Capello doesn't make the same mistake.

True, we didn't play aggresively enough back then. It WAS an ugly performance vs Liverpool. Though such a careful tactic of hoping for a defensive error , would work against Bremen, seeing as how their defence can be quite fragile. At the same time though, our defence isn't looking as solid as it has looked in the recent past. It would be quite foolish to let Bremen do the attacking, as that would cost us.

What i'm trying to say is that i'd prefer us to take the initiative and go all out against Bremen too, but I wouldn't be suprised by us eliminating Bremen through a 'patience tactic'.

Regardless, i'm still confident we'll make it.

bremen lack what liverpool had ie a rock solid defence.
but bremen have what liverpool lacked ie a sound attack.

0-0 is unlikely.if there has to be a draw,im going for something like 2-2,and that too IF we defend the way we did in germany, which is something i cant see happening again.

Besides the patience tactic worked wonders against Madrid in the return last season, which many agree was one of our best games last season.
but bremen can score ;)

and that would totally f-ck up capello plans.

Rest assured Snoop, it will be the beautiful and up to date straight 4-4-2 come Tuesday of next week.
It is easy for me to say we have to play with this formation, but it will be very risky for Capello to play with that formation for the first time. But we really need to dominate in midfield.

This is what we said in the beginning of the season especially against small teams. Back then was the time to try some different formations to be used at the times of need. Even back then, the same formation was used with the same lineuo and approach. Next tuesday is where we need to pull something out of the hat against a side like Bremen, but unfortunately, it is too late to test now.

i think Dp deserves to start, but say the game is not going great and after 60 mins is level at 1-1 can zlatan be introduced and have the same impact as DP

No, not Zlatan. We've had Enough.
Zlatan needs to be sold. I'm sorry, but this season was horrible and I don't think the future looks bright at all. Let's sell him while he's still worth some cash.

yeah 3-2 is not great considering we were 2-1 up and all but if you were offered the 3-2 result when juve were 1-0 in the 70th min would you have excepted it

Would you have accepted a 3-2 loss when we were 1-2 up 10 minutes before the end?

nope. but you did not answer my question anyway, i would not ahve excepted a 3-2 defeat then i would have hoped at least for a draw still.

anyway lets hope the lessons are learned and with a few defenders back juve should be capable of at least a 2-1 victory in turin
