Man, we could have finished them whenever we want. Bad result, but hell, our team potentially looks scary good. Sturaroand Licht sometimes both unable to keep up with the rest of the team, but Dybala-Morata partnership (not the best game for both of them, esp. Alvaro) + Pogs and Marchi is very-very promising.

Fucked up result. But can't blame the boys a lot. Tried their best. Luck wasn't on our side though and their keeper had the match of his life.

Things we learned from this?

Firstly, our defence is human and does mistakes sometimes. Well, we have to appreciate how good they were in previous matches.

Secondly, Sturaro in matches that we don't have to massively defend does not offer a lot. The guy is a machine but all he can do with the ball is 2 meter passes. We need someone to attack from his space so the opposite defenders don't have to only mark Pogba on the opposite side.

Thirdly, when players don't have full matches they get rusty. I really don't want to comment on all the bashing towards Morata. Everyone knows what is he capable of. But well, he was clearly our of shape.

Finally, plan B? We don't have any plan B when we need to score. We just do the same thing over and over. You will tell me, our plan A only recently started working. Well that's a good point. But we need a plan B for the future.

That's all I guess. Good morning and Forza Juve.

Our plan B activated in the last 5 minutes when it was evident allegri had no faith in anyone on the bench and Chiellini went up front.
Watching Marchisio fire a pass at Chiellini waist high whilst bombing forward must have even made the most frustrated Juve fan chuckle.

which is why it was 100% correct to pay up to 40M for Dybala but not do the same for Draxler

Who would you play without having to force Pogba or Khedira out of their best role? I trust that their passing/distributing is superior to Lemina and Sturaro's by a margin so they might do a decent (but not very good) job. But that would come at the opportunity cost of not having them in their best roles where they are great.

If Banega is up for a free transfer then we should get him.
i dont necessary say we dont need a vice Marchisio, but the timing you chose to bring it up is not really perfect. if we had a vice Marchisio, there is still a good chance of him being injured considering our record this season, and even when we dont have one, you cant really say we need one after a long stretch of 3-4 CMs constantly being out.

anyway, if everyone was fit (and in a game where i would rest Marchisio, which was definitely not this game), there is a few different choices we could field, depending on who and how we play. 1st would be moving Khedira into Marchisio role and playing either Asamoah or Pereyra with him and Pogba. 2nd would be playing Lemina and 3rd Hernanes obviously, although thats a bad choice considering his terrible form.

so a vice Marchisio would be good to have, but we can do without him

I agree. Morata hasn't got much play time and everybody must have seen, that he indeed was motivated. He wanted to prove himself. Eventually he has been unable to stay calm. This and his missing routine, for me, are the reasons he wasted his chances. It'll be interesting to see how Allegri reacts now.

Definitely he will ride the bench for a while....... ,and Max will state that everybody at Juve got faith in Morata.

It seems to me that Allegri and Marotta gave up on the idea of keeping morata, and will surrender him to madrid.

Also its clear that Mandzukic was an Allegri´s request and he is using him to his fullest, prefering to bench morata.

Morata has superior offensive out put than mandzukic and has more future than him, but it seems that allegri prefers the pressing of mandz and his reliable offensive output.

It's just luck. He played more or less good apart from it I think, dribbling, holding the ball etc. Some misplaced passes, some lost balls, but I liked his performance to be honest.

If we want to win the CL, we'll have to face them sooner or later.
I'd rather meet them in the final again, but you cannot think of playing the final without having to deall with at least one of Bayern, Barca or Real (I'd have Real again)

Agree and I think that misses were partly because lack of playing time.Consistency of playing time. It's not the same when you play regular and when you enter for 10-15 minutes.

I agree with you that we have to meet them sooner or later if we want to win CL .However ,I don't think that we are some kind of a serious contenders for winning CL this year.
Especially I don't want to meet them in final. It would be way too much for my nerves having in mind our CL finals record and last year game.We are champions of lost finals -6 . Yes it's a one game and anything can happens but I will rather meet them sooner. If we win then we will know that we could do something big ,if we lost we will exactly know what our current power is.
