And according to you we don't know how to play against inferior teams...tell me,how did we pass the group then, anyway?
The group stage has a different approach, it is a league like. You have to collect points. The knockout stage is fast, it is two games, shoot to kill, you have to be a sniper and a tactician. Small teams tend to put it all in one game agaisnt big teams. Small teams don't care really much if they lose in the final, their purpose was to knockout big teams and it happened they got there.

That analogy does not apply in this case. I will give you another example. Suppose you are working and you have certain tastks to do in a daily basis. Some are exhausting and some are fun and can be done while having a coffee and chatting with a colleague. What would you start with? The easy ones and when you are tired later in the afternoon, you get worked out with the tough ones and maybe not finish them and postpone them to the next day? Or finish the tough work and take it easy before going home to enjoy a nice dinner with the woman?
But the work is not like this,IMO....here every team is your possible direct opponent, this is a competition, not a chance to chat with the colleagues...
...but when it comes to the end of the day...I like that dinner...and the woman.;)

No man, no. These teams can be crushed by Mourinho's tactics or Barcelona's fire power.
And you say juve cant be crushed? Why? Because we have capello? well, benitez beat us, and played with defending tactics in our stadium and got that draw.....

I am afraid about away games..... i dont want to see something what happened in liverpool again.......and well, we lost to bayern in away game......i wouldnt say our game against bayern at home was that good.....we definetly should have had more posetion more situations.....ofcourse we won, but it wasnt a nice performance......i dont want to see just somekind of lucky win in last 10 minutes(why we beat brugge at our home stadium in 80 minute by del piero goal....we should have scored more in that game!!!! AT HOME against someone like brugge.....lol.....and we couldnt score more then one....it wasnt good game....think what happens when we meet barca or chelsea....... i know capello is great coach....but i am a little afraid that even juve might not stop chelsea or barca.....although they also have some weaknesses

I say chelsea + are great defens, great gk and good midfield
barca +, great forwards and playmaker ronaldinho

chelsea -: not that good forwards imo, the attacking game goes through lampard.... he is one of the topsscorers in epl....the thing is that, he hasnt missed a game for a very long time....doesnt make silly mistakes.....his their playmaker....another is robben, but he is injured..... but midfield definetly makes chelsea attack better, well, goodjohnson, drogba and J. Cole arent world class strikers.....crespo is probably their best attacker.....but as i said, their attack goes through lampard....so maybe they dont need those world class forwards so much...... And i saw yesterday a interview after their cl game, and they admitted that they need a topclass forward, someone like etoo, henry etc.....

barca -: Goalkeeper....victor valdes isnt very good....if he is under pressure, he makes mistakes....its just that teamwork is so good in barca, that noone understand that gk actually is their weakness......

-----
and you underestimate milan.....after all, they did got to final last year....although theyr every game was getting worse..... they have just luck so much, like against inter, then against psv they got that important goal....ancelotti definetly s-cks, but the team somehow still makes it.......

And comeon, admit it, if we might meat milan lets say in the semis....you still say, we can beat all and etc........ well we lost to milan 3:1 remember.....yes we had shitmenti in goal, milan-juve is always a hard game, and i really dont want to play against milan.......they somehow still would get together their team and might kick our asses......

-----
Dont be blind fans.......actually there are lot of teams who can beat any other....
Remember, chelsea lost in away game against that spanish team 1:0!!
Anything might happen.....dont underestimate opponents!!!! Even psv might get to the final this season.....lyon is playing well as a team........

I say away games are crucial......juve has to play very well in away games....and not only with 0:0 draw tactics! We have to go to away games, on mind only a victory!!!!!! And its not that easy to play agaisnt lyon in their stadium, full of only lyon fans, or against chelsea.....remember what chelsea did to barca at home!!! It was just ronaldinho own magic what got them those 2 goals..... In the end, they still lost 4:2

And the big teams are stronger than the inferior ones, and have to justify their names.
Don't think I'm a coward wanting an easy team to come..I just thin that it is more reasonable to avoid the strongest team in the competition(or one of the).

You got my example of chatting with the colleague wrong, I mean doing the job while relaxed. Anyway, what you said just proves what I am saying, I would like you to look at it in my point of view.

You said 'every team is your possible direct opponent'. I say every task you are to do in your daily work is your direct possible opponent. Do the tough one first. Get rid of it, then do the easier one. Every team is a possible opponent, this means you might face him sooner or later, why rely on someone else to do it, are you sure they are up to the task? They might fail and bring them back to you stronger.

You are wishing that other teams might get rid of the difficult ones, what if they can't, they will come back to you.

Anyway, all this talk is not going anywhere, there is a draw and it will decide who will meet who, but I prefer to meet strong teams, you don't, this is why the word 'taste' came to life.

No, because we are a solid team. We are not impressive, but we are very solid.

I also watched the highlights, but I wanna give props to Denco and Holdon for being truthful...

we can win games, and still play badly

seeing the ratings for Mutu- he's a STRIKER, and not a winger ffs....when will Cap learn (I cannot call him crap anymore...forum rules :faq2: )

I will give my ratings within 18 hours (or whenever uefa.com has the full game)

btw- I also want to avoid Chelsea (who I think were gonna draw anyways ), because I don't think were good enough , right now, to beat them

just being truthful guys....

Mama mia ...Juve is so great... i think its very foolish to be a milan or inter supporter...... if you're one of them you will always fear Juve and you will always know that your team is not gonna get the scudetto this year.....you have to be brainwashed or something when you are a not Juve supporter....

So attention other supporters:

CHANGE YOUR MIND NOW YOU STILL CAN DO IT.....MAYBE JUVE GETS THE DOUBLE.... THEN IT'S TO LATE......;)

Aiming at the top in Wien

After beating Fiorentina too, Juventus are flying to Wien tomorrow. In the Austrian capital, they are being awaited by Rapid Vienna players, against whom they will play Group A's second -leg match for Champions League last sixteen round. Capello's lads have already qualified for the European tournament last sixteen round and they're now aiming at winning the match to become leaders of Group A. At the moment, in fact, Juventus and Bayern Munchen are side by side on top of Group A standings with 12 points. Behind, Belgian Club Brugge have 6 points and Austrian Rapid Vienna have still 0 points.

The precedents between the two clubs see Juventus as favourites, as they have won four out of the five matches played against the Vienna-based team. The latest win dates back to September 27th at the Delle Alpi when Capello's side won by 3-0 thanks to Trezeguet, Mutu and Ibrahimovic goals. To get first-ranked in Group A, the Bianconeri will have to win the game and hope to be rewarded by the difference in goals conceded. If the goals scored are 9 for both clubs, Bayern are currently topping the standings by a narrow advantage as they conceded only 3 goals, one less than Juventus.

Another flattering result for Juventus as we actually were outplayed by Rapid for several minutes during the match, especially before our goals and shortly after. Thank God we have competent, brilliant forwards who rarely waste chances and can create them on their own because without their magic we wouldn't have won this match today and probably many others. Our goals basically came out of the blue because we never really had Rapid struggling throughout the match and after the goals our opponents fought back well and scored during a rather good run of play for them. But you have to give credit to Ibrahimovic and Del Piero who had stunning matches in the first half of play.

Rapid bagged a goal because our two usual suspects, Blasi and Chiellini, made mistakes in consecutive fashion in which both missed chances to clear the ball away from our own 18. But for some reason they both failed and Kincl scored an easy goal past an Abbiati who actually played rather well tonight. Ivanschitz and his Rapid counterparts continued to play rather well and we really could not mount any attacks real attacks with Zalayeta up top and Il Professore on the left wing. Thuram and Kovac saved us many times and if Abbiati would have had another off match the result would have been much worse.

The midfield was particulary terrible tonight as Blasi and Vieira did not have great matches. There was absolutely no service coming from Camoranesi or Vieira, however I suppose it doesn't help when someone gives the ball away 50% of the time during simple possesion..

Just a couple points on players here...

Blasi just continues to show why he's not Juventus material...giving the ball away at least 5 times in midfield is just unacceptable and God help us if either Vieira or Emerson are out of action for an extended period of time.

Balzaretti was decent however he made some mistakes and really did not exactly justify his spot in the starting 11, as I expected. I mean the man was solid for parts of the match, however he also made some mistakes that could have cost us further and his wing play was lacking as well. Balz always used his left foot for long balls up the pitch, which isn't exactly a good thing while playing on the right flank. He did not impress me enough to take Chiellini out of the squad and return Zambro out left, unfortunately...

Ibrahimovic and Del Piero were both fantastic on the night despite not having much service from midfield. Zlatan toyed with Rapid defenders and was passing the ball around the pitch rather well, which is certainly nice to see. Il Capitano's free kick was just pure class..

Supposedly Mutu said something to Capello that the latter might not have liked, however Adrian has not exactly been treated fairly thus far and there was no reason to substitute him today as I thought he was decent. I still prefer him to the seemingly inept Nedved on the left..

But at least we have won the group and can avoid the likes of Barca and Liverpool in the next stage...bring on Chelsea I say even though we are not ready at the moment..
