It's obvious that PL 'neutrals' would want the underdog team who play ultra attacking football, especially against the cynical and miserly eyeties.

At some point I heard Steve McManananaamamanaaman say Higuain "wasn't fast enough". Silly micky twat, it's another example of how it's conditioned into English (you could say British or Irish as well) football fans that the faster everything is the better.

But overall I think we do generally get a fair bit of begrudging credit now for the sort of team we are, we are considered one of the best if not the best in Europe currently even over here.
:agree:

They just love the hipster teams, Dortmund a few years ago, consistent walking over Barca and Monaco this year.

I don't buy this premise. Allegri and the mgmt chanced the team from focus on midfield to focus on the attacking midfield and attack. We're a different team. It may could be coincidences, but @King of Kings and I talked about this, when we sold Pogba.

Edit: I lost a lot of faith in that thought during the season (even though I didn't go full retard).
We did indeed talk about it

Yeah I posted somewhere here it would end 0-2. I think even Monaco didn't really believe they were strong enough. Positive performance from them, but they're not yet the team we are.

By the way their idea to put in crosses behind Bonucci and Chiellini was not a bad one. They had to put in the crosses very quickly often making it impossible for their forwards to connect on them (apart from Mbappe in the first half), but we were definitely weak there.
We were shaky with their early crosses really, both in open play and the freekicks, fvck me where they nerving how they found the space between Gigi and defenders perfectly, hard to defend them, good thing attackers were too slow to get there.

As @GordoDeCentral said in the match-thread, the ref was very lenient with Monaco players fouling our defenders on FKs and Crosses.

At the end of the match, I think the ref was actually excellent. Let most stuff go which is always what i want to see.
