Well i have some point to make:

1: It was expected that we play shit beccause i dont even remember the last time juve played.
2: Nedved out of form
3: Emerson back from injury
4: It is a bit scary to pla infront of an open crowd if you are not accustomed to it
5: I don't understand how blasi sucks and yet he playes for the national team.

Is Nedved out of form?

I don't think so.......

Thuram is always CLASS.

Btw the 2nd goal was Buffon's mistake, i forgot to mention this,
it was a little too hard to blame him on goal......that shot was really amazing !!! but i am sure he couldn't scored that kind of goal again !!!

usually a typical Juve result :) ... let's hope for the best

Forza JUVENTUS!!
we only have to close our defence as much as possible.

IMO we will play again 4-3-3 for a secure goal

No, it wasn't. I think it was Emersons Mistake, because he let the nr. 10 of liverpool go away.

Here are my ratings:

Buffon: 6 - The goals were not his fault. Other than that he did a great job.

Zebina: 5 - At the end of the day this player manages to highlight his bad sides and I wonder why.

Thuram: 6 - Eventhough it looks he was responsible for lots of mistakes in the first half but it wasn't his fault, the midfielders did well to expose him and Cannavaro.

Cannavaro: 7 - Same as Thuram but with a bit of better coverage plus he scoered a goal.

Zambrotta: 6 - Average first half and very good second half. He made good runs and created some trouoble in the opponents defence.

Camoranesi: 6 - I have to say he played similar to Zambrotta, he played great in the last 15 minute of the game.

Emerson: 5 - He was there, his almost injury at the beginning seemed to affected him as he looked afraid the whole game and he was responsible along with Blasi for exposing the defenders, luckily Pessotto came in to help.

Blasi: 3 - Our weakest link. At the moment I am feeling that Appiah is a better player. I hope that Capello tries Olivera next to Emerson.

Nedved: 6 - Considering it is his first game after 45 days of injuries, bravo Nedved. Soon this player will be back as the team star.

Del Piero: 5.5 - He tries but his times are over.

Zlatan: 6.5 - One of our most energetic players, but please improve your shooting, please

Pessott: 6.5 - Definitely the player that changed the mood, rythm and pace of the team.

Trezeguet: 5 - Invisible

Capello: 5.5 - Underestimated the opponent but was able to correct his mistake by including Pessotto

Ok here is my analysis:

To start off, Emerson and Blasi were totally weak. They couldn't control the ball nor fought for them. They were our weakness in the first half.
Nedved played as expected (what do you expect from a player who hasn't played a single match in two months or maybe more). So basically we only had Camoranesi in the midfield. Liverpool dominated the first half and managed to score 2 goals:
1- it was Zebina's fault
2- Emerson's mainly.
Deffense: Thuram looked a little shaky but nothing major. Cannavaro looked ok. Zambrotta was doing fine Zebina was doing bad. Emerson and Blasi were not there in the first place. Nedved didn't play any deffensive role while Ibrahimovic cleared few serious ball.

Offense: Since Blasi and Emerson were not doing anything whether it was offense or deffense, it was hard time on Camonaresi who tried to do few tricks to create chances. Del Piero was moving good. He was one of our best attacking solution tonight. Craeted a chance and missed it (good save by Liverpool's keeper, never the less Alex should've scored that). He scored a goal from Camoranesi's cross that was disallowed claiming it was Offside which it wasn't. Ibrahimovic managed to hit the post..

The 2nd half: PESSOTTO IS THE MAN.

Pessotto replaced Blasi He took over the midfield which resulted in Juventus taking over the match. After Pessotto's enterance our deffense really relaxed alot. We startded creating good chances.. Del Piero looked weak in few moments and Capello decided to replace him with Trezeguet (bad call in my opinion).
We managed to secure a goal.. But didn't creat any other chances.

Deffense wise we were secured because PESSOTTO (ALONE) secured the midfield.

I think if Del Piero stayed we would have created more chances. Nedved was not doing well (expected and not blamed) so we needed someone like Del Piero to stay on the field. I know that Del Piero wasn't at his best, but I think we didn't have any other choice.

My rating:
Buffon: 5.5 (some of the blame of the second goal is on him)
Cannavaro: 7.5
Thuram: 6 (good second half)
Zebina : 3
Zambrotta: 5.5
Blasi: 0 (wasn't on the field)
Emerosn: 0 (wasn't on the field)
Camoranesi: 6
Nedved: 5 (as a first match after two months its ok)
Del Piero: 5.5 (good first half, looked abit shaky on the second, but I still think it was a mistake to bring him out for Trezeguet)
Ibrahimovic: 5.5 (he didn't really appear well in the first half but I don't blame him, I expected more in the second half after Pessottos entrance)
Trezeguet: 4
Montero: 6 (didn't make a mistake right :D )
PESSOTTO: Man of the match for Juve 10/10

Thats my analysis.

last time we faced Real Madrid, not a real and motivated soccer team - that's the difference.

well show me the keeper who will save that ball...that was great/ lucky shot...do you really want to blame gigi for that goal? :howler:
why should he always stay infront, it was too hard for him Because he advanced, you can't know when a player is gonna shoot....

The first half of play was truely a disaster, however we came out on the pitch in the second half and were ready to play. The passing and forward play was 10 times better in the second half than the first, and that was due to Capello changing his tactics at halftime. In the second 45 Capello gave Nedved more freedom to roam, and most importantly of all he brought on Pessotto for Blasi.

We went into this match at Anfield cold and perhaps too confident, and it showed because we were not ready to play tonight. In the first half we were disorganized and ball watching, seemingly not with it. Liverpool, as expected, gave us problems with their quick play, however they could not keep that quick play up and we took over in the second half.

In Turin next week we cannot let Liverpool take the game to us and have their way in midfield. We did not win the midfield battle tonight and we must take control next week in Turin. I think 2-1 is not that good of a result for us, however our performances at the Delle Alpi in the CL have been very good, so I think we should be able to progress to the Semifinals. If we play like we did tonight, though, and concede the midfield to Pool, we'll be finished.

Buffon was solid for most of the match, however for the two goals he should have done better on one of them at least.

Zebina was extremely poor tonight and was at fault for the first goal. He gets caught ball-watching regulary, and tonight we finally conceded a goal because of his mistakes.

Thuram was poor through parts of the match, not being one of his best games. He made mistakes under lots of Pool pressure in the first half.

Cannavaro was good on the night, more solid than his partners in defense. Fabio saved us by rising to meet Zambrotta's cross, and his header was too strong for Carson.

Zambrotta made some very good runs down the left flank tonight, and he seemed to be more involved in the match than usual. He caused the Reds lots of trouble on the left and should have won us a penalty for the shirt pulls he received.

Camoranesi had an average match, although he did create some good chances in both halves. In the second half he started to come to life and made some nice runs past Red defenders.

Emerson was in trouble right from the start of the match as he looked to have pulled a muscle stretching for Del Piero's harsh backpass. He obviously was not himself tonight and did not look with it, however he stayed on the pitch and gave a good performance.

Blasi was just plain horrible in the first half, giving the ball away too much, missing tackles, and making too many fouls. Again, I show you Exhibit 10 why Blasi is not good enough for Juventus.

Nedved had a quiet first half but came more to life in the second. I think Capello gave Pavel more freedom to roam in the second 45 and it payed off. Not a bad first match back for our great Czech.

Ibrahimovic had a poor match and squandered a lot of chances. He did make a few nice moves, including hitting the post on one occasion. He still has a lot of learning to do, though.

Del Piero had a poor match as well, however he scored what should have been a VALID goal. Alex was clearly onside when the ball was played, and the goal should have stood.

Trezeguet might not have even touched the ball in this match, just showing how poor our passing was tonight.

Pessotto was Man of the Match, no question. When he came on at Halftime we looked like a completely different team, and he gave a class performance compared to Blasi in the first half. Pessotto was able to control the ball when he received it, make the right passes, and not make stupid fouls like Blasi. One of the top matches I have seen him play in recent years. :star:

"Referee" Bleeckere and his staff were terrible on the night.
