I don't understand that logic. Unless Milan fu(k up royally, we have little quality. Tonight's performance wasn't a one off.
What you don't understand? Now there's no CL to fight for and when we slip up and end behind Milan on Serie A we can't blame it anymore on CL. It would've been done if we were still in the hunt for CL-trophy.

Solid Liverpool Eliminate Dire Juve
4/13/2005 11:01:00 PM
The Reds are through to the semi-finals of the Champions League as they held the Bianconeri to a goalless draw at the Stadio Delle Alpi.
An awful Juventus side could not go further than a 0-0 at home against Liverpool. The Old Lady needed to win 1-0 or by a two goal margin in order to overturn the first leg 2-1 defeat and qualify, however the Bianconeri only managed to create two goal scoring opportunities throughout the whole match.

As was expected, Juventus started cautiously, probably way too cautious and in the arc of the whole first half only created one chance in the 11th minute when Ibrahimovic sent high from close range after a good move on the left wing by Zambrotta.

Liverpool administered the first half well thanks to an excellent tactical setup which left no space for the Juve forwards. The Bianconeri became frustrated as time after time their attacks were rebounding onto the defensive line erected by Benitez.

In the second half, the match became livelier but goal scoring chances still were a rare scene. Liverpool went close in the 49th minute when Barros went past Montero and in front of Buffon he shot wide thanks to Thuram’s important challenge.

The rhythm of the match kept moving agonizingly slow and despite playing with another centre forward, Juventus failed to create much. Their only real chance arrived in the 78th minute, when the hero of the first leg, Fabio Cannavaro, nearly scored a carbon copy of that goal but this time his header hit the goalpost before Dudek cleared it off the line.

The match dragged on for another 15 minutes before referee Ivanov whistled the end of a terrible encounter which saw Liverpool advance to the semis where they will meet fellow English side Chelsea.

I know this my 1st post.
Can't believe I never noticed this forum.
20 years of supporting Juventus.

Anyway, I personally think Juventus lacked a lot of desire, lacked character, lacked spirit, lacked determination and even lacked a bit of quality.
Tactically they got it wrong too.
I mean they actually played the long ball tactic.
This is horrible, I am from Ireland and Ireland used this tactic during the 1980's and 1990's to all the fans dismay.
Zlatan may be tall but long ball is not the way to go.

Like all of the Juventus fans, I am disappointed, but not because we lost the match or got knocked out of the CL.
Teams lose matches now and again.
But because the players just didn't give the right performance.
It was a woeful effort.

What makes it worse for me is that in Ireland all fans are pretty much premiership supporters. My 3 next door neighbours and most of my college friends are Liverpool supporters.
I dread going into college tommorrow.

Welcome to the forums man. I was in Cork last week, Donegal last summer and Offaly the summer before that. And my brother in law is irish too. Anyway, have a good stay at the forums despite the loss!

Cork was lovely weather last week:D. I was in donegal last summer and i was mortified by the girls there (in a bad way). Then i went to Cork and they looked absolutely stunning. I was amazed with the difference.

I was also in Dublin that year i was in Offaly. My sister got married at Kinnity castle (if you know it) which is in Offaly, but i took a tour around Dublin on a bus driven by a bus driver with a bad sense of humour :D

I lived in Ireland for a critical few years of my development leaving me with the most messed up accent you have ever heard. It sucks i must say. :D

Ireland is cool though. Dublin is imo the greatest ever city to visit. And those dublin chicks, man...

Glad you like the country.
All we need over here a an Irish team getting into the champions League.
Prob not in a million years.
But hey if a small Isreali club could get in, why not an Irish one!!!!

Yeah the girls up the north west are no the prettiest.
All the good looking ones flock to the cities:D
Well a lot of them do anyway

Yes all the teams here suck.
There are no good players here.
Shelborne got knocked out by Deportivo in the 3rd qualifying round.

Considering Depor got 1 point and scored no goals in the group stages, it shows the utter uselessness of Irish clubs.
At least the national team has its moments

=======================================
Irish girls don't dig English men.
England are our eternal rivals
But they def dig the foreign ones, espeically the French, Spanish and Italian. Anything Latino and you should score!!!!

Im half italian and half english. where do i stand according to those rules?:)

The irish team is great. During the 80s there was a point when ireland were better man for man then england.
