Forza Juve!

Today's the great day. I pray that: i) the Juventini at the Delle Alpi behave themselves; ii) the Bianconeri out play the Reds in all facets of the game; iii) we have a resounding victory; iv) that we bash the money bags from London next round.

Forza Juve!

Lets take it one step at a time. Lets beat liverpool and qualify tonight. Then we think about Chelsea... We are Juve... We just say BRING THEM ON!!:cool:
Liverpool is a great team.. So lets give them a great Juventus

I really hope that Pavel finds his form fast... Because Alex and Zlatan are in form the only thing missing is Pavel. Oooh boy when Pavel gets in form we will be UNSTOPPABLE. I would not mind a 4-3-1-2 formation at all
Zlatan and Alex scored together around 27 goals this season..

and on Goal.com they say --->The flare throwing began after referee Markus Merk CORECTLY disallowed a Cambiasso goal for a Cruz foul on Milan's Brazlian keeper.
Well, do you remember guys Toldo's goal in Buffon? Colina thought that was not a foul... hmmm Markus Merk thinks thats a foul... hmmm

Well in all replays it showed the Dida did not jump correctly (timing wise) and that Cruz happenned to be there and I doubt if he did touch him (TOUCH, even though if he did it was after the ball was played by Cambiasso).

Anyway anyway.. FORGET about Inter and Milan.... Tonight its Juve Vs Reds.
Lets hunt them down... (with respect ofcourse)..

Tonight's game will be tense no doubt. I hope we take the initiative and finish pool off - won't be easy but I believe we can make it especially if we pace ourselves correctly. Nerves will play a major role in this one. Hopefully the tifosi will behave.

ok and Capello, pls put Nedved in his correct position ok?
This is the winning formula, and pls don't underestimate Pool.
Who said anything about underestimating. Liverpool is a very strong team, we were quite lucky (and impressive) to maange to end the first leg 2-1. They did put us on some pressure on the first half.. Thanks to Pessotto we managed to control the second half.

They say he misses a lot ,but that Zlatan Ibrahimovich scares the s**t out of me - I watched your game against Fiorentina and he took his chances very well.
When you combine this with other quality players you have then we (Liverpool) should be outclassed ; even with the best available team we have , which in my opinion has not even played together once this season !!!!
I said - SHOULD be outclassed because there has been a certain magic only apparant in European games this season for us, so we are hoping to get lucky tonight.
Reading down the list of your players who will be playing I can tell you Liverpool fans are simply in awe, but team spirit and organisation can sometimes overcome the stongest of Football Clubs.
If our players turn up with the right attitude then their team spirit will be immense, think about it, no Steven Gerrard, the emotion of the occasion, Alonso, Cisse, we are hoping the European Liverpool turn up tonight and not the League Liverpool.
Good luck everyone, may the LUCKIEST team win and enjoy your day ;)

Turin trial awaits Traore
Wednesday, 13 April 2005
By Simon Hart

Asked if Liverpool FC were now dark horses to win the UEFA Champions League after last week's stirring Anfield victory against Juventus FC, Djimi Traore's sensible response was: "No, we will see after the second leg."

Assume nothing
It is wise not to assume anything about Liverpool's season, a point underlined by their defeat at Manchester City FC on Saturday. Manager Rafael Benítez may have declared after the 2-1 first-leg defeat of the Italians that Liverpool "are more consistent now than earlier in the season" but the 1-0 setback in Manchester certainly suggested otherwise.

Positive portents
Still, for full-back Traore, who, with Sami Hyypiä, will return to the Reds' backline in Turin after being rested on Saturday, there are positive portents as Liverpool look to defend their first-leg advantage. "We have produced some good away performances in Europe, like in La Coruna and Leverkusen. We need to go in like that," he told uefa.com.

Toughest challenge
While Liverpool have lost nine times In 16 away games in the English Premiership, they have won three of their five games on the road in Europe, qualifying match at Grazer AK included, and were comfortable 3-1 winners at Bayer 04 Leverkusen in the last round. That said, Traore - now a regular under Benítez after almost leaving Liverpool last summer - also recognises that this will be the toughest test yet for a side missing the injured Steven Gerrard.

Italian test
Juventus have lost only once at the Stadio Delle Alpi all season and beat Real Madrid CF 2-0 there in the last 16. "It is very hard to play there in Italy against Juventus as you saw when Real Madrid went there," said the French-born Malian international. "We will try and avoid doing what Madrid did, we'll have to defend well and score a goal and try to keep a clean sheet."

Ibrahimovic threat
Keeping a clean sheet, of course, will mean keeping quiet an attack that includes Czech playmaker Pavel Nedved and Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimovic. The latter failed to shine at Anfield, where a succession of flicks and knockdowns bore little fruit, but he scored his 12th goal of the season in the weekend draw with ACF Fiorentina and Traore is wary of his threat, saying: "Zlatan is a very good player, a very strong player. He's the target man and a real danger."

Underestimated side
Liverpool, Benítez conceded, produced "two different levels" of performance in the same 90 minutes in the first leg against Juventus and it is imperative they start well against the Bianconeri, not allowing their hosts to seize control from the outset. Looking back at last Tuesday's match, Traore believes the Italians underestimated Liverpool initially and will not make the same mistake again.

'Great match'
"It's one of the great matches we've played in the Champions League this season, and even if we conceded a goal in the second half it was a good result," said Traore. "Before the game we were very excited to be playing a quarter-final against Juventus. For us it was very important and I think everybody played well. At the beginning perhaps Juventus considered us the weaker team but after we scored two goals, they had to react and got better and better."

Good enough
The hope for Liverpool fans who witnessed the defeat at City must be their team have their European hats on. They will also hope the players have taken heed of Benítez's words on Saturday night that: "We need to know that if we can't win, sometimes it is good enough to draw."

the big conern for me is the 2 central mids where the match in my opnion will be played in this area , just a remider for the 1st half in the 1st leg , Emerson and Blasi were too miserable therefore liverpool got compltet control of the game and score 2 goals !! the 2 central mids must be aware of the counter attacks of the english team cause i think Bentize will concentrate on it cause it's the only way for him to get a positive result in Turin !!

forza Juventus FC

Now my boss tells me that I can't leave the office on time (I missed yesterday's "sweetness" because of work), because we have to complete our presentation today...

He's dreaming!

Capello calls for patient Juve Tuesday 12 April, 2005

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Juventus boss Fabio Capello believes patience will be key in Wednesday’s Champions’ League tie against Liverpool.

The Turin giants need to overturn a 2-1 defeat at Anfield, but the Coach wants his side to pace themselves rather than run the risk of conceding a potentially lethal away goal.

"We need to play with intelligence," warned the tactician. "Obviously we’ll have to be aggressive but also prudent. We shouldn’t be in a rush to score.

"There will be trouble if we all went forward and allowed them to counter-attack."

The Bianconeri already came from behind in the previous round when they cancelled a 1-0 loss at Real Madrid with a 2-0 victory at the Delle Alpi.

"We are playing at home and we must look to limit their play," continued the former Roma boss.

"However, I think we are in the right frame of mind as we were when we took on Real. This time we only need one goal though…"

Capello confirmed that he will be without the injured David Trezeguet and suggested he will play with three at the back.

"There is nothing we can do about David," he noted. "He tried to train today but was still feeling pain in his ankle. I don’t know when he will be back.

"If we play with three quick players in defence then I think we can stop them from being dangerous.

"Yet the most crucial thing will be the filter provided by the midfield. Emerson is fine and will play."

While the Brazilian has been cleared to start, Liverpool will be without the injured Steven Gerrard.

"The Reds will be compact but will be without a leader and that could weigh them down," continued Capello.

"I expect Xabi Alonso to replace Gerrard which will give them less dynamism but perhaps a little more quality."

Given the absence of Trezeguet, captain Alex Del Piero will definitely start in attack alongside Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

"We’ll go through if we play to our strengths by playing the ball to feet and quickly," stated the Italian No 10.

"Liverpool are a good side away from home though and they could cause us problems on Wednesday.

"But we are in the same situation as before the Real game. We need to win to go through even if we only need a goal."

Juventus squad: Buffon; Montero, Pessotto, Emerson, Ibrahimovic, Del Piero, Nedved, Chimenti, Birindelli, Camoranesi, Appiah, Zambrotta, Blasi, Thuram, Bonnefoi, Kapo, Olivera, Zalayeta, Cannavaro

I don't know about you guys, but it's kinda hard to focus on the match when it's pretty obvious what will happen tonight. :(

Anyway, if the match can be played for full 90 minutes, without any trouble on the arena, I think we will go through.

But if it's 0-0 after 45, we must go for a tridente.

Buffon
Pessotto Cannavaro Thuram Zambrotta
Camoranesi Emerson Nedved
Zalayeta Ibrahimovic Del Piero

FORZA JUVE, tonight is the night!

the only thing i fear is that liverpool to score from corners and sit-pieces like heppia goal in anifield , the defence and especially thuram should be on their best , because this is the only way that liverpool can score (i hope not) cause our midfield is stronger especially gerard is not playing , and like capello said we have to be patient , we only need one goal:D
