tacchinardi has lost it to blasi
remember if that game finishes 0-0 or 1-1 we are out of the champions league so WE NEED GOALS
and we need to concede 0 GOALS

so can oliviera play on the right?
I thought he specialised in playing on the left or in the centre but Capello played him on the right throughout pre-season. He seems to be improving alot under Fabio and is finally showing his true potential. When we signed him he was one of the most promising youngsters in South America, and now he's actually proving himself. Cheers Ruben. Cheers Don Fabio.

Trust me, we're not going to keep a cleansheet against anybody with that defence. If the Swedes can put two past us when we're playing with four at the back then imagine what'll happen when they're at home and we're playing with a three man defence. I say we go with a solid but attacking 4-4-2/4-3-1-2.

Buffon
Zebina? Thuram Legrottaglie Birindelli/Zambrotta
Zambrotta/Olivera Blasi Emerson Nedved
Trezeguet Del Piero/Miccoli

I'm still convinced Olivera is right footed.
He is probably completely both-footed like Nedved :extatic:.

Anyway I think he should start the next game.
I can feel Olivera becoming the Maresca of season 04/05.

I didnt watch the match, but I read all the articles about it. Most of them saying we got significantly better when Oliveira entered the pitch, and we were playing some promisingly good football until the heavy rain made it impossible. I thought blaming the rain is just an excuse, but then I find this, on juventus.com

I know what you mean; I just hope we don't squander him like we did Maresca :groan:

We should do. As u say 'We Are Juventus' and beating a team like this should merely be formalaties to us, all due respect to them but even if they have played 15 games there is now way tht we shouldnt have won against them, its early days i know but its not good signs for the supporters, were not seeing much l8ly to consider our Juventus a threat to the domestic crown OR to any european honours, a team like us should be winning every game against teams like this no matter what, and we have definately had our fair share of warm up games 2 build us up 2 this match, im hugely disapointed and disgusted, the nly good thing 2 take out of this game is the wake up call it sends to 'the powers that be' and hopefully now with the return of nedved all will be alright, noetheless 2night has been a dark night for juventus, and the return leg is on my birthday so i hope for a nice preasent from Fabio Capello himself :D:D:D:D
Happy birthday in advance, just in case i'll not be in the forum in two weeks. Man i feel you, everybody is disappointed, expecially the players and Juventus' staff. But i consider those games hard games. They are not friendlies. That team built his season around this game, we didnt. We were out of form, and we've played under a storm. We have problems, but we can fix them. Remember last year? Until december, Juventus looked unbeatable both in Italy and Europe, while Milan sucked. Then, all of a sudden, one player (Kaka) changed everything, and Juventus went out of form and suddenly went of from the top. I dont like to judge the teams in august. Until december, the team will just learn a new different gamestyle. From december (and after jan's reparation market), we can really judge the team. P.S. I dont wanna think about the chance of being eliminated by this Swedish team, cause i find it irrealistic.

I've seen Olivera a lot of times, man. Expecially with the Uruguayan team. His top position is as a playmaker. But in the National he often plays as a wing, expecially left wing. I remember he played a friendly against Italy on the left side, and he did a damn good game (just a couple of week before we bought him). In the Juventus Primavera, he has played as a striker. First striker, only striker on the team. It wasnt his best position, in fact he struggled (but still it was enought to win Viareggio). Lippi has never trusted him, and when he has used him, he has used him as a second striker. Once again, i dont think this is his position. Capello this summer has invented him as a right wing. And i gotta admit that's a great position for Olivera. There he can use his speed, he can dribble, and he can cross. I think he'll be a good addition for this year's team. He's still 21, but he got class.

2-2 against this random team deemed the easiest draw possible on our home turf when feilding wht was the best 11 players avaliable 2 us?? what a ****ing joke
just check out all the results of the first leg, and you will see how difficult to beat even a smaller team at the start of the season. I remember Milan had some serious difficulty qualifying last year.

CSKA Moskva 2-1 Rangers
Dynamo Kyiv 1-2 Trabzonspor
Benfica 1-0 Anderlecht
GAK 0-2 Liverpool
Juventus 2-2 Djurgården
PAOK 1-2 M. Tel-Aviv

of course we need a solid cd, but I dont find yesterdays performance so discouraging.

Well done, Capello and Olivera. We really lacked a good right-sided midfielder as Camoranesi is so damn inconsistent, so Oli should come in handy this season.

Yeah, with Camoranesi + Olivera + possibly Zambrotta (maybe with Chiellini, the player in your avatar, as a starter, left back) i think we are ok on the right wing.
