Wonder how long it will take us to actually show up to the match. 20 minutes, 30, minutes, 60 minutes. I would lean towards the side struggling with a 0-0 display at least until half, then the question becomes does Porto score or can we secure the 1-0.

wouldn't be surprised if we do something stupid and porto scores an early goal.

bonucci and chiellini starting smells disaster to me. not because of their usual ability to make mistakes, but because they both are rust after not playing for a month or more. and danilo and de ligt are not there to cover for them.

You'll be missing the game though, so you don't have to worry about any of that :D

Of course, the club is in dire need of thinning out the wage bill so all the high earners except for De Ligt can't feel 100% safe IMO.

It's definitely down to CR7 vs Dybala here and I have a feeling it will be Dybala that leaves. First because he's easier to sell, second because he barely featured this season.

Selling CR7 would leave a huge hole in the attack but also could give a very good opportunity to buy more quality players for midfield. So a lesser attacker + better midfield could give us better results and more sustainable wage bill. In the end we're talking about Ronaldo, not sure if the club can set up a sale just like that here.
It would release a lot of pressure on the club and if a offer arrives, I would seriously consider it. But it also depends on who’s available to replace him obviously.

Ah yes, the Ronaldo doing a Mandzukic in a 4231 suggestion :touched:
Perhaps with Morata on the left

Ronaldo
Morata - Kulu/Ramsey - Chiesa
Rabiot - Arthur
Berna - Sandro - Demiral - Cuadrado
Szczesny

As much as I dislike Berna, I’d go with the same defense as last games. He did good and Sandro also looked a lot better against Lazio. Sandro as leftback became to static, and it doesn’t make any sense to rush Bonucci/Chiellini. The only exception is De Ligt obvioulsly.

kulusevski cm :hihi:

gotta love these fantasy formations by professional journalists

btw i don't trust bonucci-chiellini too much, especially not after a long break for both.

Perhaps with Morata on the left
ronaldo is fine on the left. he wouldn't do the backtracking anyway, it would be ramsey who'd provide some cover for the left back.

also, chiesa never played on the attacking fullback's side so far. i'd love to see it, especially with cuadrado, but i doubt pirlo would make a similar change for such an important match.
