JUVENTUS (4-2-3-1): Buffon; Sturaro, Barzagli, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Khedira, Pjanić; Cuadrado, Dybala, Mandžukić; Higuain.

There are 2 doubts. Barzagli or Rugani and Khedira or Matuidi.

Sami Khedira and Medhi Benatia are expected to start tonight for Juventus in a 4-2-3-1 formation against Sporting CP.

It kicks off in Turin at 19.45 UK time (18.45 GMT).

The Bianconeri welcome back Miralem Pjanic after his thigh injury on September 27, but are still missing Claudio Marchisio, Mattia De Sciglio, Benedikt Howedes, Marko Pjaca and ineligible Stephen Lichtsteiner.

It had been reported that Max Allegri tested a 4-3-3 formation in training this morning.

However, all suggestions point to a return for the 4-2-3-1 in this must-win match after one point from the last two Serie A games.

The big change is that Khedira will be used rather than Blaise Matuidi as a partner for Pjanic.

Juan Cuadrado, Paulo Dybala and Mario Mandzukic fan out behind Gonzalo Higuain.

As for the defence, Stefano Sturaro is used at right-back and Benatia in the centre, resting Andrea Barzagli, but there is still no room for Daniele Rugani.

Juventus (probable): Buffon; Sturaro, Benatia, Chiellini, Alex Sandro; Khedira, Pjanic; Cuadrado, Dybala, Mandzukic; Higuain

Rugani must be extremely patient man he has been on the bench for 3 season and everybody knows how important is to play regularly at his age

its so weird that 2 clubs like Juventus and Sporting, who finish top of the table in Italy and Portugal and qualify for european competitions regularly throughout their history, face each other for the 1st time in 2017.

Allegri needs to go, I'm done with this arrogant fool.

What was the point of investing all that money in wingers only to see Mandzukic and that headless robot Cuadrado start?

Why is our best CB always on the bench? Because he made a mistake or two? He's young, that's the point. How do you expect a player to develop if you won't let him play through mistakes? Meanwhile Barzagli is a shell of his former self and can barely run, but sure lets put him out there, better yet let's give him time at RB too!! Benatia hasn't been good in two years and can't mark for shit.

And the worst...SAMI KHEDIRA. This guy brings literally nothing to the table except the illusion of tactical awareness. Can't run. No technique. Physically big but doesn't actually use his size. Useless. I wouldn't even trust him against Parma. Matuidi is miles better. Matuidi might not have technique either but at least he works beyond a light jog.

    This should be the lineup, period;

    Buffon

    Sturaro Rugani Chiellini Sandro

    Matuidi Pjanic Bentancur

    Dybala

    Bernardeschi Higuain

True, Khedira is agile like a dead horse.
While Mario brings nothing in attack this year.He is just usless playing left winger.
