I confess, I read the rule over and over, even asked a referee friend of mine, but I'm still unclear whether two yellows over the two semifinal legs would suspend a player from the final. Did we find a definitive ruling somewhere?

llorente or wallzagli weren't too expensive either

no, they won't. the only way to get suspended from the final is to get a red (either a direct or a double yellow) in madrid. it has been confirmed on a couple of sites.

Rather meaningless stats, but whenever we played the first leg at home in the CL knockouts, we qualified for the next round. We played the first leg at home 5 times. Won 3, drew 2, but managed to qualify after the 2nd leg.

Well, thanks, but: first off this is an older version of the rules, I think you meant to link the newer one which has the addendum that "In addition, all yellow cards expire on completion of the quarter-finals. They are not carried forward to the semi-finals."

However, this is still confusing, because earlier it says that a player will get suspended following any "subsequent odd-numbered caution". Cards getting wiped doesn't mean you can't get two cards and have an "odd-numbered caution" situation in your hands during the two semifinal legs. So unless the count of the cards also gets reset (which isn't explicitly stated), then the rule is still ambiguous.

If it is FIFA or UEFA, don't expect anything to be clear cut and logical, unless you pay for it yourself.

Heh, I don't expect to, but I'd like to have all our players at our disposal if we make the final, and I don't want those Madrid cunts provoking cheap yellows from some gullible referee and that ending up hurting us. I still remember the Nedved tragedy clear as day.

Watching the highlights again, much more relaxed this time.

What an amazing performance, can't say that anyone of the boys had a bad game really.

Strangely confident going into the return fixture but I'm not gonna get ahead of myself

:agree: many hearts broke that moment, I don't think anyone can forget the look on his face.
