Accomodation in Cardiff is unavailable or extemely expensive, am talking 400€ for a tent, 800€ for a dormitory in a hostel, 2000€ for a sub-decent hotel.
Unfortunately the UK is totally unregulated in this respect and they price at whatever they want.
If you have a car, look at Bath or Bristol, also on Airbnb. If you will be travelling by public transport, you might as well just stay up all night....
