Zach is right. Athletic will try and break any flow juventus has by fouls and rolling in on the ground.

This is why we need long shot and free kick experts from the start.

I'd play all of marchisio pogba and pirlo in the mid to increase chanes of longshots

i disagree that Pirlo should start. bring him in the last 20 minutes or so. we need defensive stability with pace upfront. and we will get that with Marchisio - Vidal - Pogba - Pereyra - Tevez - Morata

Brahs pirlo scored and assisted vs Olympiacos. He still has it.

We might get only 1 free kick in minute 4 of the match and no others.

Vidal is the player I would bench. Let him get his shit together

yes but he also might lose the ball in the 10th minute infront of our own box. remember how Mandzukic destroyed him vs Bayern. i wouldnt risk a draw for 2-3 FKs. i would try to play possession game and keep the ball away from our own box. and also they didnt rest anyone today which implies that this game isnt so important to them so they might not be 100% concentrated at times. their goal is probably to take a draw and finish 1st in the group. thats why, knowing them, they would defend with all players behind the ball. so i would try to give them possession at times to get them out of their box and try to hit them on transition. all in all its gonna be a hard fought game. 1-0 for either side with not so many chances might be the end result.

The thing is, in open play pirlo will be allmost useless cause of how deep athletico defend, and a huge liability on the counter, wich is one of their main strengths

Its about wether Allegri believes we can get freekicks or not

i think we wont get that much FKs. well, atleast not close to their goal where Pirlo is dangerous. thats why im for Marchisio-Pogba-Vidal

Good to see our players pumped up and claiming that they'll play for a 2 goal victory. I have no doubt that we'll be more motivated and hungry in every duel. For us it's to be or not to be, while for them it's just the last match after securing the qualification. They'll be happy with everything but a 2+ goal defeat, and this should make our main job (not to lose) easier. They also have Gabi, Ansaldi and Godin in danger of 3rd yellow, so not getting that 3rd yellow might be their priority on Tuesday.
I don't think that Atletico will play with the same intensity and concentration they usually have. Perhaps they'll start the match like that, but the knowledge that they are qualified and they can even lose by 1 and still top the group will be there in their heads.
I find it improbable that we won't leave this match undefeated.

When we played Atletico the last time without Pirlo, we created zero chances... Zero. This is a team who are insanely difficult to break down and so I very much rather we have our most creative player starting. They do not pose much of an attacking threat.
