I was 13. The 98wc was the first one i remember following. I remember we had this small book with the newspaper, het nieuwsblad, that explained the teams and players. I dont have it anymore, but.i recall some quotes forever.

I recall them giving 1-5 star ratings for the players and an explenation. Italy had alex and baggio on 4. "Loaded with stars, but will the azzurri want to work for each other"

Brazil had ronaldo on 5, and 'rest of the team' on 4.

France had something nice about "wonderchild zidane who had just made his big move to juve, but he wants more, can he bring glory to france?'

I recall Vieri's goal but italy beeing negative.

Later on the many rewatching, mostly eurosport, i came to understand just how negative Cesare was, and how he murderdd italy's best generation in history

South Korea's blatant cheating in 2002 sort of made it so that people didn't take much notice, but Trap was really awful throughout the tournament. He did not handle the Del Piero - Totti situation well at all and when Del Piero finally had the confidence and the backing of the Italian people, he takes him off for friggin' Gattuso.

Allegri confirmed Hernanes.

The only doubt remaining is Sandro or Evra. He said he hasnt decided yet and that Sandro played 5 of the last 6 matches.

If he benches Sandro... my blood rushes just to think about it.

Evra will most likely play as he is rested and we will go to defend a draw on foreign soil most likely.
