btw i'd really like to see 3-4 italian teams in the cl group stages, but our market pool would surely feel that. the italian league has one of the largest pools, so being the sole italian team at the latest stages provides a lot of $$$ for any club. we need to raise some considerable sponsorship money to step well above 300m in yearly revenue either way, but if some other italian teams make great progress in the cl, that could hurt us pretty bad.

I disagree on them not being a team. In my opinion they work very well as a team they press quite well and help each other when on possesion of the ball. What is lacking is winning mentality the kind that we have.
They have evolved from the big spending side to a smart team that has a good project of course they still have the spending power but they make smart signings that complement the team like Di Maria who has taken their attack to another level.

With Verratti signing a new contract and them having a really good core in their team I think they'll be part of the big sides for years to come. Only argument people have is the weak league which is exactly the same argument stupid PL fans use against us (not saying that Ligue 1 is anywhere near Serie a). They still have to play well and win against some good teams and what they are doing this year is nothing short of amazing make no mistake it would be hard to win the Ligue 1 over PSG for any team this season.

How would Italian teams doing better collectively in CL be worse for us ? We are only earning like 15-20m more with not having 3 Italian teams in group stage.
Did you check Serie A's global TV rights deal ? Its at 186m a yr.Now imagine other Italian teams step up..
That amount is going to be considerably higher as would the domestic TV deal.People would pour money to watch the best Italian teams.Thats only going to be a plus for us.

No way. They haven't played anyone of note under Spalleti, aside from us, which they lost. A match which they created absolutely nothing. They required a horrendous penalty by Berardi to not draw Sassuolo, and then were outplayed badly by Sampdoria at home and should have drawn that match. They've conceded goals to Carpi, Sampdoria, Frosinone in their last 4 games, hardly world beaters in attack.
I just don't see it. When they play attacking football they look terrible at the back. When they play defensive football they look terrible going forward. Until they figure out a way to play a balanced game between attack and defense, they are going to continually get spanked by good teams.
By the way, Luciano Spaghetti was on the bench for that 7-1 loss to Man U in 07
