I somehow doubt we beat Madrid this time. This side is in transition and not yet as good as last yr.I don't think history matters that much.
Chelsea is a much more ideal draw in comparison.

Money clubs from top-5 leagues will have made in the CL after round of 16 (excluding gate receipts):

This is the max we can make, ie, this is what we will make if we play the final again (yeah, not gonna happen):

Roma progressing means less $ for us, but it also means less chance of us drawing Bayern since Bayern can draw Roma but couldn't have drawn Leverkusen.

Lyon knocking out Valencia also benefited us since Barca and Real couldn't have drawn Valencia but can draw Lyon.

Benitez is a pretty good cup coach, however.
I agree. And last season, they had injury issues and were a bit tired after playing important league games (one of them was away vs Sevilla or Valencia IIRC). We were well-rested (could rest players because we had practically won the scudetto) and had a better team than we do now.

They really missed Modric, and we took advantage of that by playing 4 CMs. They were also missing Benzema in the 1st leg.

Even with all that, it was tough last season. It'll undoubtedly be tougher this season unless they've an injury crisis and suffer from a loss of form in February.

I think some are feeling at ease at the prospect of facing Real because we beat them last season, have a good historical record vs them, and because they recently lost to Barca 0-4. But there's no reason think it wouldn't be a terrible draw.

Damn barca is so good :( It doesn't even matter now who coaches them these days... I would definitely would want to avoid them until later at least. Even would prefer Bayern to them.
