So looks like modric and benzema will likely miss the semis but bale will be back for the first if not atleast second leg http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/32455893
I think we have a much better chance without Bale and Modric. It sucks to have to defend against too insanely fast and infinite stamina players on both wings especially that modric could spray passes to them behind our defense and both bale and ronaldo can really shoot from anywhere. Now we only have to worry about Ronaldo... the others are manageable as they arent different from normal good strikers.

"Ronaldo is the biggest improvement I ever had at Manchester United really because he came as a young skinny kid at 17," the retired coach added. "And yes, he had stuff such as diving which people used to criticise him but, once he got out on the training field, he was fantastic.

"The most important thing for a great player is decision-making and that improved over Ronaldo's time at old Trafford. Him and Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs, you have to say, are the best three players I ever had. Bryan Robson and Roy Keane and Eric Cantona were great players, too, but not [at their level]."

But Cantona played against great defenders while Ronaldo and the others played against mickey mouse players.
This is a coach who coached Beckham and Nistelrooy amongst many other greats from ten years ago before football suddenly became mickeymouse.

It's impossible, cause the type of footballer Nedved was doesn't exist anymore. Messi and Ronaldo are the best from their generation and nothing more. That applies to Nedved too.

But look at the goals. I actually think our team did a good job closing him down.
The timing on that first one is so perfect. Goddamn.

I am quite happy going in as underdogs.

I don't know if I am naive or overly optimistic but there is just something about the team this year. Other teams can have all the talent and strength but the comradeship and determination in this team... that might take us further than we've imagined.

Anyway my ideal scenario would be eventually defeating Bayern in Berlin in the CL final.

Modric is a big loss for them. Provides so much balance to their midfield. Benzema also does so much grunt work upfront and is basically a roaming assist-man for Ronaldo lol.

Can't wait for this. Hope we really do some damage to them in Turin to set up the return leg nicely.

I don't think Ronaldo played that well against us over two legs. He scored a penalty against us, one was a one-on-one due to a Caceres fuck-up. He did score a decent goal against us in Madrid to make it 1-0 in Madrid though.

He was pretty quiet otherwise against us in Turin. Bale played very well against us though, I remember him tormenting Asamoah quite a few times when he was playing RW during the game.

Gigi should have saved Bale's goal in Turin. Poor from him.

And the more times I watch the penalty decision against Chiellini, the more it appears to be a joke of a call. Both of them were tussling, and Ramos took advantage of it to basically spin a pirouette into the ground. Obvious dive. Naive on Chiellini's part, but a joke of a call nonetheless.

I agree. I actually see it happening that we beat Real, then go on to lose narrowly to Barca in the final

God, Caceres was so horrible
broke the offside trap in Ronaldo's first goal in Madrid
and in Turin, of course...
Ronaldo was in line with Barzagli and Ogbonna in the first goal in Madrid... Ogbonna was his reference for offside line.
It was a mistake to try an play him offside imo, his timing is too good.

in Turin was a mistake from Caceres, but Ronaldo's closed the pass to Barzagli and purposely made the deflection towards Benzema and not some random interception. He played a big role in that goal too.

Caceres played him onside, though.

I really think Madrid is the best matchup for juventus out of the three, bayern and barca like to play from the wings, also have flexible players in the likes of neymar, messi, robben, thiago etc... Madrid actually plays more a physical football with many long balls, set pieces which suits juventus more in my opinion. This will be closer than many people think, it will be no easy run for madrid. Juventus can hurt Madrid, stay compact with a good defence and try to hit them fast when you have the ball, the switch from defence to offence will make the difference, and this battle will be decided in the midfield, the likes of vidal and marchiso must win the battle there against kroos and isco, and deliver to tevez and morata. Madrids defence is just good when you give them the time to settle, which our mistake was last year, playing the ball back and sidewars was wrong, you must win the ball and then surprise them, no fear of going forward, attack after winning the ball, and I believe tevez or morata can surprise them by playing fast and direct... its important to attack them, if juventus decide to hide deep and just defend without fast approach they will get knocked out just like atletico. They are vulnerable at the back, fucking Schalke put 4 against them in MADRID, dont forget that!!!
