You wont find a bigger Nedved fan but thats just BS.

Say Robben and we'll have a discussion but he is nowhere near as prolific in goals or assists as these two are. No one is really.
I say your post is BS. Look the defences Nedved faced and look what defenders they play against at Granada or some shit club at Spain when every game they won is by 7-0 or more and they score 5 goals every second game. Primera Division became the most boring championship in the world if you ask me. Only exciting match is real vs barca and in the last 2 years atletico came in the mix. And now they are slowly returning to their bad selfs. You can see how he can't be near as prolific because the standard has dropped. I'll take Nedved over messi and ronaldo every time even if he wasn't our legend.

Football really is in a sad state. Everybody is addicted to FastFood herpaderp arcadeball. I want us to become the rock that everyone hates, bonecrushers in defence, top class fantasistas and cold strikers upfront

Ramos is a much better FB and I've never understood how people can't see the amount of Bonucci'ing he has done. If he played all these years with us, people would bitch about him like they did with Bonucci.

I'll vote for that.

It's about time someone dictates a change in style and tactics that other teams need to catch up with.

No you wont. Thats a ridiculous thing to say, both ronaldo and messi are in a different league than nedved. Your statement is based on nothing but bias and nostalgia.

The thing is Nedved was a world class player in his own right, a really hard worker, who was one of the few players who used both feet equally well, he was one of the most complete wingers/wide attacking players in the world. So why would you do him a disservice by making pointless comparisons like these??

When did Helguera and Saldado turn into amazing defenders?

And yeah, Roberto Carlos couldn't defend for shit. He was just good at attacking.

It's your opinion to me they are in the same league. Messi and ronaldo stand out too much because the standard has fallen.

What happened to you? It's completely retarded comparing these players.
I wasn't the one who made the initial comparison, and it is always challenging to compare two players from different era's I would agree. But come on, some things are just clear cut, you do not compare Nedved as good as he was to the two freaks of nature that are Ronaldo and Messi.

The problem is that its not even close, I mean even if the standard of football is probably not as good as it was, it still does not take away from the freakishly high consistency both Messi and Ronaldo have shown.

I really worry about keeping Ronaldo quiet. He scored three times over two games against us just last year. We have improved, but this is going to be very, very difficult.

People think so little of us, we need to send a message.

It's impossible, cause the type of footballer Nedved was doesn't exist anymore. Messi and Ronaldo are the best from their generation and nothing more. That applies to Nedved too.

But look at the goals. I actually think our team did a good job closing him down.

Because he scores a goal now and then

They are not, Madrid's current defence is just inferior to them, and pure defensively nothing special.

Roberto Carlos is a player you must understand. He was one of those special kinds we've seen between '80 and "'00 that could manage the entire line all game. First thing we need to see is tactical.

CRonaldo cant defend for shit compared to Lahm. But you know Lahm would be greatly restricted to make offensive runs when he plays Ronaldo. Thats a players insane endproduct limiting the opponents creative freedom tactically. Extremely few backs actually pulled this off well.

Secondly, there is the fact "what if you meet each other on the line, with alot of space in the back ? That was the prime strength of carlos. High on the field he'd never lose a one on one duel, and because of his amazing agility and high acceleration + pace + lasting stamina, he was pretty much impossible to play full offensive. A bit like its stupid to go all wide open creative against Xavi's Barcelona, he'll just find Messi somewhere who'd rape you for at least 3 goals.

I'm not saying Carlos was like Maldini. Who could sit on his own D line and prevent whatever cross to be launched or creative plays. Thats not what Carlos did. Carlos was simply so dangerous and difficult to get played past, that you would absolutely not press him high, while he would continiously press you very high.

I once have seen a player get past R.Carlos. It was i think a Turkish or Morrocan player with a perfect rainbow flick. he somewhat got past Carlos, who turned and managed to block him out. 1v1 dribbeling ? forget it. Playing past him ? Sure but he'll catch up allmost immediatly and block off the center. But usually you wouldnt play past.

The one player who gave him the hardest time was Luis Figo when he won his ballon d'or at Barcelona. And even that was not even schooling like we see today. And Figo prime was an insanely gifted player.

Thats the juve i loved, the juve Conte was building in italy, and god please : the juve Allegri is creating in europe

Take note peasants. Look at how he's allready turned when the player is not even past yet. He probably wouldnt even need to foul

And this is probably the best rainbow flick i've ever seen

first it’s not about how many goals or assissts, cristiano scores about 60 goals two season ago but he didn’t win any trophy so all your goals are useless..on the other hand neved in 2003 was the major reason why we won the league that year and if he played the final CL we easily won..add to that winning the Ballon d'Or in a time that includes great players zidzne,figo,sheva,henry...and to put nedved and robben in the same sentence and daring to compare is just hilarious man
Because Messi was not the main reason Barca won every single title since Ronaldinho left. Because Ronaldo was not the main reason United won the EPL and CL and Madrid.

What do you mean goals are useless? you want a measure of a player's effectiveness you look at their goals and assists these are not defenders. When you find that Ronaldo and Messi score more goals in two seasons than Nedved did in his whole Juve career then you know who is the better attacker. If you are going to count only goals in title winning seasons you'll shrink Nedved's career to 2-3 seasons and less than 50 goals.

Whats wrong with comparing him to Robben? Robben is the main man behind Bayern, led his team to a WC final, won the double (losing to inter in the final) and the treble later on with Heynckes. Robben has been overlooked because he is in the Bundesliga and because Messi and Ronaldo always did more individually.
