Everyone keeps talking about catching England in the UEFA coefficients, because Germany will be... around 1 point ahead of England to start next year, I believe.
But... England will spend their way back into the ascendancy, whereas Germany doesn't really have that capability, and now that Serie A clubs seem to take Europa seriously I really can't see Italian clubs having less success in that competition than German clubs. CL, Bayern will gain more points than us, but Dortmund is in free fall and won't be there next year, and you have Wolfsburg in 2nd who were just annihilated by Napoli. I see the number 2-6 teams in Italy as quite a bit stronger than 2-6 in Germany.
So... seeing as Bundesliga 78.558 points right now to Serie A on 68.510 points. Bundesliga drops a 15.666 point season and Serie A drops an 11.571 point season. But there is a very good chance both Bundesliga clubs go out in this round, and all three Italian clubs progress. If this happens and Serie A finishes with a 19 coefficient this year, and Bundesliga stays on 15.0... To start next season we'll be looking at
Bundesliga --- 62.892
Serie A --- 58.939
The following Bundesliga loses 15.250, and Serie A loses 11.357
The year after Bundesliga loses 17.928, and Serie A loses 14.416
I see Serie A in the ascendancy right now, and Bundesliga having levelled off, maybe even dropped a little. Serie A should easily pass Bundesliga by 2017, if not at the end of next season, if our clubs continue to take Europa seriously.
