It has nothing to do with their teams and of course they'd never field their best squad there. We've seen Italian get kicked by Thun and other teams, so you should never expect them to grab coeff points there, why should they? My guess is that all of Napoli, Fiorentina and Roma would try to exit the competition asap and focus on Serie A.
