We sure have the players to be amongst the very best but our style of play limits these players from taking us all the way. The main idea behind our tactical setup is having a regista like Pirlo that can move the ball at his will. Only when Pirlo is not world class, and he often isn't, the idea of football Conte implemented is not working against sides that play modern attacking football with possession and pace. Bayern played a formation of somewhat 3241 last night. They have a great defense but also gamle quite a bit when having so many players on the opposition half. First half they had 4 players luring at the offside trap. And when the wingers are pure wingers and not wingbacks you see the difference amount in goals. We're years behind Bayern and suited to a tactic that limits us in so many ways. We have the players to play attractive football and we do when we play in serie a but sadly we only play good football in CL when our opponents let us. Just like Bayern let Roma into the game in the second half yesterday.

On paper we have better players then Dortmund, yet if we played them tonight we'd have little or no possession and create very few chances. That's mainly because Klopp is a better coach then Conte and Allegri. (yes. Klopp > Conte)

Please name the 8 teams in the CL that are better than us.
@Bjerknes

What, from the past 8 years of CL history, would possibly suggest that Juventus is a top 8 team in Europe? We've made one QF... We're simply not as good as some people think we are. And this isn't just a case of underperforming in Europe, which we did last year, going out in group, because we overachieved the year before by making last 8. We're a Round of 16 quality side. On paper we should probably be around #8-12. Actual performance this year, who knows so far. After today we'll know more.

Real, Barca, Bayern, Chelsea, PSG, ManCity, Arsenal, Atletico, BvB, all have clearly better squads than us on paper, and with regards to European results. We're in that next tier of squads with current ManU,Benfica, Porto, Liverpool, etc.

I can't quite fathom why some are laughing so hard @ Roma. We have been quite embarrassing in Europe of late, and until we actually qualify from our group, I'd hold back on the laughter and ridicule. It isn't as if we are guaranteed a spot in the round of 16 by virtue of being Juventus.

Let's fucking win first, and then laugh at the misery of others.

:disagree: They don't have better squads, just better results.

But we also don't go around talking shit about how good we are and that certain clubs cheat. Our Goalie doesn't cry at every opportunity. Our coach doesn't make inappropriate hand gestures during a game.

They had that ass kick coming for a while now.

Roma

Just because a team or a bunch of players are uncultured, vengeful cunts, doesn't necessitate that we stoop to their level.

We are better than that. After all, we are a historically significant club, whereas they are a skid mark in footballing history, a glorified provincial club with a mentality to match.

Cuz they're our enemies and it brings us joy to witness their humiliation
I don't get why people need an explanation. It's like they have never watched Juve play Roma or any Roma games for that matter.

We haven't stooped to their level because we haven't cried to the media. :p

They are the level of the stops my dog left on my carpet.

Those 3 are debatable, although I would suggest that the constant decent results in Europe for a few years now, and the fact they all have bought 20mil+ players in the recent past puts their squads slightly ahead of us even on paper. They first 6 I mentioned have clearly better squads, those 3 are slightly ahead of us, partially due to results, which places around number 10, which is pretty clear seeing our results and the glaring weaknesses in our squad, with the lack of width and creativity in attack, and fairly mistake prone central defenders aside from Barzagli.

We need to stop overrating our players based on Serie A results. We're good, but we're not yet a top 8 European quality side. Round of 16 quality for sure, anything less is pathetic underachieving, but top 8 is slightly above us right now. I've been guilty of it too, this overestimating our squad, but we have to be aware that part of the reason our players look so good is because Serie a is incredibly weak right now.

We're definitely top 8 quality with current group of players. I can accept that few of us are slightly overrating this team, but some of you are hilarious with constantly spewing negative bs and bringing us to down the level of Galata or Olimpiakos or bellow the level of the clubs like Atletico or Dortmund, clubs that had one lucky streak in Europe and very soon they'll fall to obscurity, mostly due to financials and their inability to hold onto their most valuable assets.

Bayern, Barca, Real are clearly above us; Chelsea, City and Psg are little above, but we would give them hell of a game and I don't believe they'd relish a prospect of facing Juve in the next stage, while with the rest (Atletico and BVB) we're at least on equal footing as far as the quality of the first team is concerned.

There's nothing wrong if somebody says that Atletico is a better club than us, football wise. You should put your financial input aside for a bit. When we're talking who's stronger, we're talking about current season. None of us is a Nostradamus, so saying stuff like 'you'll see where they'll be in 5 years' is just silly, because we're not comparing incomes, marketing or our stadiums.

We lost against Atletico too, so saying such stuff holds its ground. Sure, we might beat them in the next match, but that doesn't imply much either. They are a team that can hardly be beaten by top clubs at the moment, let alone us who can struggle against weakest clubs out there.

We can take on many top clubs, sure. But there are also some clubs who's play we cannot handle and imo such club is Dortmund. We might be individually better but I hardly believe we could beat them outside of group stages.

Actions should take the place of words. Even last year we've been seeing comments how we're super strong, yet we were thrown out of group stages. Before comparing us to other clubs, who were in semi finals or finals over the past couple of years, we should focus on actually getting better -- because there's a whole lot of room for improvement. We should reach 1/4 at least before saying anything hilarious when it comes to strength comparison.
