A sure sign of the ridiculousness of the so-called "Champions" League is this...

In the USA, Fox Sports has won this year's contract to air the Champions League matches. However, tomorrow the US ESPN -- a direct competitor to Fox Sports -- is showing Atletico Madrid-Juventus. Why? Because the games Fox Sports will air are loaded with money and they want to show Arsenal-Gala instead, so ESPN said, "Well, if you're not going to air Atletico-Juve..."

The irony is that the only two matches in the Champions League this week that are between actual league champions are Atletico-Juve and Malmo-Olympiakos. I really do wish they would get rid of these ridiculous 3rd and 4th place teams, but instead UEFA is going to introduce 5th and 6th place wankers from the EPL. :sergoi:

whats even more ironic is when it was strictly comprised of champions it was called the european cup, and then with the inclusion of 3rds and 4ths was changed to champions league :p

It's a farce, but at least ESPN decided to show the match instead of extreme tree-climbing.
