Directly, no. It draws more attention to the league. Rather than people going around saying things such as "Serie A is irrelevant" or "Serie A is $#@!" that will begin to change as more people begin to watch again. More viewers and attention = more money = better players. I would argue yes to an extent that continued productive runs into the CL by English teams definitely helps to bring them more money. Look at Arsenal, what have then done ever to warrant such a rabid and deluded fanbase? Well, every season they're in the CL, playing "attractive" and getting far. You want a league with just one powerful Juventus and nothing else? Look at PSG. All that money and even still no one cares about the French league, it's still irrelevant. But we can't even be on that level because we will NEVER have money like that. We can only improve so much in a weak league. For our ceiling to be raise so must everyone elses, and to me that's what I really seeing it all coming down to.
You're getting wrong side of the stick though. Italian football is rotten and that's why clubs suffer, not because Napoli or Udinese fail to qualify. Create a structure like Spain or Germany have and you'll see Italian teams doing good in Europe. Italy doesn't produce enough talents and the overall level of the league is lower. Players are worse technically, slower and outrun by opposition. Structure of the league and training methods have to change. You can't buy success and Napoli <-> Bilbao example perfectly proves it.

But you still agree that the league must do well in order for us to do well in the long term?

So tomorrow group draws? Quite excited, tbh. I hope to draw Fica and Galatasaray, or at least one of them. We still have something to regulate with them... However, whatever will come out will be good. Just wanna see which european teams we will have to face, and see how most people will pontificate on how they're better than us and the whole Serie A, even if that is Ludogoretz.

Don't try to avoid anyone.

If you can't cut it with the strongest, then you have nothing to do in this competition. Which Juventus will learn pretty quick.

"league must do well" is something we understand differently. IMO Napoli's exit doesn't matter. If it was the case, Serie A wouldn't get the better TV deal because Italian clubs have been sucking for a long time now. And they got the better deal in the end.

IMO the league will do well only if things mentioned by me above are to be done. Otherwise it doesn't matter. For me it was obvious Napoli wouldn't go through. Next step is Roma going out in the group stages. As for Juve I don't know what to expect tbh.

Both teams at this stage of the season are very far from decent. Destroying isn't right word for this because the season just has started and obviously shit could happen for every team which has to play this qualification. Serie A should start earlier like other champs.
Napoli got destroyed. It has nothing to do with what you said.

Oh, and Barca would destroy us. I want us to get the easiest group ever.

Hope we get Barca....The whole world sits up and takes notice when they get beaten, and Allegri has neutralised Messi before:p
Celtic also beat Barca in group stages, Juve beat Chelsea who were then reigning CL champions in 12/13; imo not many would sit up and take notice unless it's in the knockout rounds and Juve eliminates them. I hope we get an easy draw in group stages and round of 16.
