Goddamn, people complained when i made long posts to make everything clear, and when i shorten it down i gets misunderstood.
Fine, lets have a go.
Last year our defence was individually in horrible shape. As a collective we did nice, and our organisation was improved, but nearly every single game in the first 10 serie a games, we gave away a total blunder. Wich was fine, since we were keeping up with the scoreline. However when we started doing that in europe, it became an issue.
On its own it wouldnt have been an issue, we just took the risk of leaving it to the final game. That final game had nightmarish circumstances happening. We were getting in the game and pressing the turks back, when the snow ended the game. When we proceeded the next day it was a fucking hell. 80% of the balls recovered in the midfield, were passes that got stuck in the mud.
Result ? we went out in the group stages. There were circumstances and poor individual form from defence (wich includes Buffon), but the cold truth is that its disappointing nontheless.
In the Europa league later in the year, there was a visual mental fatigue and physical fatigue going on, and i cant help but think that we werent taking that to serious.
Now, this year the entire team will make sure we dont end up like that anymore. They will be hungry and motivated. And the defence individually, who took a good part of the blame, will have a huge incentive, to not be blundering like last year.
