Not a dive?? Just as Juv Rus said he started to fall before the contact was even made. Barcelona are the scummiest team out there. Diving, pressuring the refs, nasty tackles when no one is watching... Disgusting team.

I won't debate whats shown on the gif. He gets punched first, then he drags his right foot to make sure he gets a penalty. There's no two ways about it.

That seems like a pretty clear cut penalty on Sanchez, and if that happened to any of our players ever (especially last night), you would have all expected a penalty

Honestly, the punch missed him. He was going down but if he didn't sirigu would have taken him down
Are you blind my man? Look at the gif, Sirigu's right arm straight to the inside of Sanchez' left shin. You can even see the muscles wobbling in the slowmo.

Punch is a strong word in this example but the other part of your sentence is true, he drags his right foot to make sure he gets a penalty, now the correct decision would be yellow card for Sanchez. Contact between him and goalkeeper was minimal if there was one. If that kind of contact is enough for one to get a penalty you would see 5-10 penalties per match.

This, Sanchez was smart, he let his right foot behind to make sure Sirigu would touch it.

Yeah but he began going down before he was even touched....still a penalty but he made it easier for the ref.

Btw, did you guys see Messi's goal? That was quite an amazing move, from the pass over the defence with the outside of the boot, till the volley into the bottom corner...once again, if that was a Juve player we wouldn't be hearing the end of how great a goal it was

Yup, Dani Alves' pass was world class. And Messi's finish even better.

What's your point? Do you talk about the awesome goal Klaipedos Atlantas scored few weeks back? No? Guess what, Atlantas fans are talking about it.

The point is that on the Champions League thread, all people are talking about is Zlatan's offside goal and the penalty, and not actually talking about a great goal or giving it any credit

There seems to be quite a number of users on this forum who are convinced that Sanchez was blatantly diving. Clear cut penalty.
It's not clear cut by no means. He dived blatantly. Based on what I've seen in those situation it's 60%-40% for not calling it. Contact was minimal and Sanchez provoked it. His right foot was dragging into Sirigu before the left one received a knock.

It was a great goal and Messi is a great player. Even if he plays for scummy team.
