Could be wrong but I think because the ball was there, Ribery's challenge would be seen as part of the play/game and wouldn't lead to sanctions. had he hit or spit on somebody or something of the sort, without the ref seeing it and sanctioning him for that, then that situation would be up for review and likely lead to him missing more than one game.



btw, Messi is out of the return leg with PSG - out for 3 weeks due to injury. All of a sudden PSG's chances are looking decent.
