Decent effort from Milan, even if they were pretty fortunate.

Don't get the fuss about Abiatti's performance.

Only the freekick from Hulk in the first half and the volley late on were really good saves, while he fucked up for Zenit's equaliser. Other saves were decent enough, but there would have been questions asked had he let them in.

Milan look more comfortable with the 4-2-3-1, since it covers the pitch a bit better when they don't have the ball.

It also stretched the game a bit more, which means that Milan don't have to play so much in tight spaces where their indifferent technical ability would be more likely to be exposed.

Thought Montolivo was poor. He needs to take the responsibility to get on the ball more and do more with it when he playing with De Jong.

oh, come on, he is still what 19-20? Pirlo himself wasn't Pirlo till he was 23 or so
Just stating the facts on the day, yo. I didn't decide to call him the Next Pirlo. But others have. The guy's nickname on the night should have instead been "Hoover", because he sucked everywhere on the field tonight.

Doesn't he remind you of a Koala bear?
I can see that. With the eyes I was thinking more undead zombie, but koala works. I'm sure Angioplasti feeds him eucalyptus leaves after the match.

Man City were awful and very lucky (even worse and even luckier than Juve were last night).

They just don't run enough.

When they have the ball players aren't moving to find space themselves or to create space for others and when they don't have the ball they don't get into shape quickly enough and they don't work to press and put the opposition under pressure.

They also move the ball far too slowly, so it is pretty easy for the opposition to contain them.

Only when they played long to Dzeko did they pose any kind of threat.

BVB were great and should have won the game comfortably.

Good call from Klopp to change to more of a 4-5-1/4-3-3 type shape to strengthen the midfield.

BVB's pace and movement was fantastic at times. Not quite sure how you'd go about stopping them when they are in that mood, other than by utterly dominating possession or by sitting really deep and keeping things really compact.

You certainly aren't likely to beat them if you try and play them in an open game the way that City did.

The penalty decison was one that could have gone either way. If the ref is going to give it, though, I think he also has to give BVB a penalty for Zabaleta's handball in the first half.

With all the talk about how much better we are than Milan they will still do much much better than us in the CL.
That's just lame pessimism and short sightedness. They drew at home vs Anderlecht two weeks ago. Our players are allowed to have off days and even when they were so bad we still managed to get a draw. We won't be beaten and I think people should lighten the fuck up.

* Bayern, PSG and City had a bad day
* Sirigu reminds me of Buffon 10 years ago
* Huntelaar: I see him easily score goals here (though he missed a few chances today)
* Belhanda from Montepelleir, little kid, strong on his feed, great technique
* Nordsjaeland, Dinamo Zagreb, Anderlecht and Ajax are the worst teams this year.
