Both defense and midfield is definitely better than Chelsea in my opinion..

We should definitely fancy our chances against them if they play Lampard-Mikel in midfield.

I know he had an amazing season last year. He had a much better season than Luiz or Cahill. That is largely down to him playing in a team that were very strong as a collective unit.

So despite being in better form than Chelsea's defenders, he is not better than them ability wise imo.

Not long ago, he was a flop in Germany, and a player that was unwanted. Credit to Conte for revitalizing him.

Yeah, we clearly saw in the Euros, when Barzagli was up against England and Germany, that he wasn't of "Cahill-level".... :disagree:

And btw, I wouldn't say he flopped in Germany. He played every single match for Wolfsburg when they won the league in 2009.

He wasn't really a flop in Germany. He was a big part of the Wolfsburg team that won the Bundesliga.

of course he is better than both those hacks. It's not even a discussion, they both make so many positional flaws every game that it's getting embarrassing to watch.

People seem to forget that Barzagli was highly rated in Italy before he left for Germany. Fabio Cannavaro called him the next big thing. Bonucci had one bad year at Juve from January 2011 to January 2012. Since then he has been a beast and is absolutely great when 1-on-1 against an attacker. Also, this defence only conceded 20 goals last season - lower than anyone else in Europe's big leagues.

We should really look to control the middle of the park. Outside of Barcelona, our midifield trio is probably the strongest (arguable I know but it's not just Juve supporters who have said this;)).

Shame our attack is Cavani/Falcao/Llorente less...

Not in terms of individuals imo.

No way would Barzagli or Bonucci even dream of a place in Chelsea's lineup.

However, as a collective unit, Juve's defense is a considerably better than Chelsea's.
David Luiz might be a better footballer than Barzagli but he doesn't know shit about defending.

Well it is a defense that won the CL...ours isn't even proven yet. For now I'll say it's even until we see ours in actions.
They won the CL by packing the bus, which makes a defense less exposed. Now that they try to play possession football, their weak defense is exposed.

David Luiz and Gary Cahil are shit defenders, while Terry is only getting worse.

:howler:

Its not like Juve plays open expansive football .

you guys play with 3 center backs, and a 3 man midfield.
