Yes that would be very beneficial for italy, to lose coëfficient points, and for juventus that they are out of europe and can focus on serie a
:disagree: yeah, inter losing to tottenham would affect juve oh so much. and they're not gonna qualify for cl either way, treq. don't see both milan and napoli dropping that many points.

I don't have any problem with Inter going as far as possible in the EL as long as they don't win it. I won't cheer for them though, if that's what you're asking.

I can't see them beating Spurs though.

If we dont want serie a to end up like scottish premier league, we need the other teams to progress far in both european competitions. Its only good for juventus as the TV-money will increase and its rather low compared to what the 8 richest teams got.

Nah, them continuing in the EL would make their task of qualifying for the CL much harder.
This. Because Napoli are starting their fall down, Milan could go far in CL, and Lazio could go far in EL.

So we kinda dont want to take the risk that inter gets in CL and embarrases italy in europe

No, I just meant that they won't get the CL spot regardless of whether they stay in EL or not.

Chelsea went down to 10 men against Barca last year. They went on to win the CL final.

ManU did the same against Real Madrid this year and choked after they had the complete upper hand defensively. What's their excuse?
Chelsea didn't have to change their gameplan after going down to ten. They were just sitting really deep, no pressing the ball and trying to deny space.

Man Utd were trying to mark at times and were more aggressive in terms of trying to win the ball. Neither of those things were appropriate once they went down to ten.

They didn't adjust their tactics immediately and that is what they had to do to provide a decent obstacle once they were playing a man short.

@acmilan

So, what are your thoughts on the return leg at the Camp Nou, do you think Milan will go through?
I have serious doubts about that starting from Barca likely being more focused than usual also due to their bad results recently, passing thru Milan having quite a few players, who aren't used to the psych pressure of such games, and ending with the very likely scenario of Milan having a player sent off and a PK or two against them by HT ... I mean, who do you think the average fan out there would rather watch on TV or live - Barca with Messi or Milan with Constant :D

If Milan choke I would be disappointed, no way, absolutely no way do you guys concede 3 goals. over 90 minutes

I think you will go through. Remember, you only need to score a fluke goal on a counter attack or on a corner and they have to score 4 goals.
that is true but also easier said than done. Apart from any ref assists for Barca, I am expecially worried about how the players handle the atmosphere - Barca would be buzzing in those first 25-30 min and Milan doesn't have many experienced players apart from Ambro who know how to keep their cool in such situations. It's the type of circumstances where the game could be over before most Milan players manage to settle down - if Barca go 2-0 up, it's not very likely Milan would find a way back into the game even if just a single goal would flip it on its head.

If Milan manage to keep a clean sheet in the first 30 min, I think only the refs can get Barca thru from that point on ... but it's those 30 min at the start I am worried about.

Philip Mexes may be a retarded but I think he could handle the first 20-30 minutes. Also helps when you have players like Muntari, Constant, etc who just have immense stamina. As long as they can keep up with the pace which they should, they'll be fine.
