The lack of experience in CL is showing, prior to this campaign, only Pirlo and Buffon could be considered seasoned champions league players. Vucinic probably played in like 3 versions or so, and the others may have had small/short appearances over the years (Vidal, Barzagli, Giovinco etc)

Same exact team next year would not have lost points against Nordsjaelland and Shakthar.

Nice to see several pages of discussion.

I know people are trying to soften the blow of any potential disappointments coming up, but as it stands the Juventus performance in Denmark is the reason why the team will have to take some serious points against Shakhtar and Chelsea to qualify, and put in really good performances. If it came down to drawing against a side that should have been the whipping boys in the group, then it would be a fairly embarrassing way to be eliminated from the competition, and the great performance against the European champions on London will be soon forgotten. The first game against Nordsjælland should have finished similarly to the one last night.

CL experience my ass...while that counts for a portion you cant overlook that we have been horrible in front of goal and our intensity and concentration are not at the levels it was during last season...we're laboring this season i could have seen that from since pre-season...that experience thing tries to hide the fact that our strikers are inept and out goals to shots ratio is horrible BOTH in serie a and CL..if we were converting in those two competitions we would not have been in this qualification mess and we would still be confidently unbeaten in the league...you need to take your chances and you need to maintain intensity both of which we have not been doing...and oh the stupid silly mistakes on the field..these are players accostomed to the fiery cauldrons of international football and sizing up to the best out there....

i spit on your experience..

I disagree, I think we're better than that. It all comes down to us failing against Nordsjælland. If we bagged three against Nordsjælland we would be sitting pretty on 10 points with 2 games to go. If we don't go through I'm positive that the draw against Nordsjælland will be the determining factor, if there is no shame in that then I don't know where there is :p

We only really struggled against Shaktar, but even in that game, we created the biggest chances and should've scored 3-4 goals.
Shaktar outplayed us big time
we were very lucky not the lose that game
we got a few good chances but they had more clear cut chances for sure

You're saying it is shameful that we can't get out of a group containing Chelsea and Shakhtar, because we didn't beat Nordsjaelland. Doesn't make sense.
no, I'm saying it's shameful we can't get out of a group containing Chelsea, Shakhtar and Nordsjælland, because we didn't beat Nordsjælland. This is a hypothetical discussion, but people in here are just diverting much of the attention to the fact that Shakhtar and Chelsea are good and unequally including the (shameful) fact that we would be tied on 1st if we had just taken 6 points of Nordsjælland.

So basically all three teams are good, and all three teams should beat Nordsjaelland home and away. We agree here.

But your argument is that it is shameful if we can't get out of this group. As this group contains two other very good teams I don't agree. If we were in Group C, F, G or H I'd probably agree. The others have two very good teams each.

They did? I seriously don't remember. I remember them having to very dangerous shot just wide, but we had the big clear chances. I have to see the highlights. I had problems with the stream that evening, but you're probably right, cause I was pissed after the game.
They hit the bar right on the final whistle, when we didn't clear the ball properly, you might remember that.

But we started Matri that game, so we should be good to go if we start Vucinci and Giovinco in the away game :D

Since when? Historically, they aren't on our level. United were careless and complacent last year, underestimating their opponents, and as a result failed to qualify. As for City, losing out to a hungry and motivated Napoli, in addition to the always dangerous Bayern Munich in their maiden season is no shame. However, this season, they have been embarrassing, considering that they've struggled to even get points off Ajax (managing a draw in 2 encounters).

I rate Juventus as a top 8 side in Europe (we are far ahead of everyone else in Italy), and as such, elimination in the group stages would be deemed unacceptable and inexcusable.
clearly you don't remember the CL final where Dortmund carved us up, fucking chapuisat the king of headers he was called, peruzzi had a horrendous game
