Very different role playing CF and having to play with your back to goal a lot and having to work to find space, rather than starting on the wing and drifting inside.

Still, it doesn't look an unreasonable line-up from Chelsea.

Yes, but Sturridge is originally a CF who got pushed to the wing due to lack of chances in the center, he has said in a lot of opportunities that he plays better in the center, so I guess this is his chance to prove it.

Ramires is a better fit for the right in today's game due to all the work he does, even if he's not really that dangerous upfront.

Even when he played centrally he was generally playing with a target man type CF, though, so he still had a lot of freedom to roam.

Different challenge to go and be the focal point of an attack and lead the line properly.

That isn't to say Sturridge can't play this role - just that his good form on the wing doesn't count for an awful lot tonight, in my book.

I think Sturridge might be the most likely striker to follow AVB's instructions if media speculation of Drogba's revolt is true.


Sturridge looks like he might be a fairly active CF, maybe better to play off of Raul or Lampard, whichever bombs forward or link up with Mata.

BBC is saying Terry will miss the game with a knee problem.

Presumably Luiz will play, which can only be good news for Napoli.
