as far as im concerned there will never be a player that matches zidane in my life time. zidane's intelligence, his leadership qualities in how he can single handedly carry a team on his shoulders (France 2006 being a prime example) and technical ability has never been matched by any other player i've witnessed in my life time.

I didn't. I don't usually compare different players. You cannot say Buffon is better than Maldini, or Maldini is better than Ronaldo. The argument with Delli Alpi was "who'd you rather have in your team".

For me, Zidane is without a doubt the best midfielder football ever witnessed. But if I have to choose, I'd rather have a Messi on my team. But that's just me.

I don't think that matches against Ghana, Saudi Arabia or Morocco help us judge a player. I only use WCs to judge national teams.

it's ur opinion and i i respect it, but for me if i was to start a team from scratch, i would chose Zidane, i'll be sure my team will perform even if i surround him with mediocre players

exactly that is a fact, compounded by the other fact that he blows donkey dong with a pretty stacked argentina team. Messi is insanely explosive, no denying that. But while zidane can and did carry a team on his back, messi still hasnt shown that. And the years wnt do him any favors tbh.
