it was the manure hate, now the barca hate...it's something usual around here, and it's a normal thing..
Simply put, it's a rebellion against a perceived misrepresentation of reality. Barca are drummed up to such ridiculous extent to be the best team evar that this naturally makes a lot of people dislike them.

If in the same period Arsenal are largely ignored by the media then there isn't much to rebel against on their account.
Well that explains a lot. Thank you.

That's good, but bragging about it is a bit like bragging about never having beaten up your wife. It's sort of the least one can expect.
You know, we have a say in Arabic, "If you spend more than 40days with the same bunch of people you become one of them".

Odds are pretty big here at JuventuZ NOT to use the word cunt after spending so much time here. That's why I'm proudly praising myself and bragging about it :D

No its NOT. I get Valdes for example, or Xavi's statements about others (he is ok in games), but Iniesta or Messi? dont get it at all.
Valdes and Xavi is hateable. Messi is an object of hate because he is that damn good! Me don't know much about Iniesta, but he looks like a OK guy.

What about Busquets?

I will say this much, and I've stood by this statement for years now: I don't get Pedro. What an overrated Spanish Rafaelle Palladino, without the height.

It would be great if Barca and Man utd meet in the next round, then Barca is knocked out by Man utd, and in the end Lyon or any shakhtar or Marseille win it all.
In order for Marseille to win this shit, they need to beat Man utd first :D

He has actually bagged a lot of goals.

.
Thanks for the heads up :D. Totally forgot. I would love if Barca get knocked out by Man utd.

He just fits right in the system. When teams face Barca, usually Pedro is the least of their worries, so he gets off the hook mostly and end up having too much space to play in.

Because barca have closet fans on this forum.
I hate EPL teams more than any other. So last night out of the two I wanted barca winning, on another day if barca took anyone else I wouldnt be bothered who won. Next week id be gunning for copenhagen and marseille to cause upsets. In your opinion what kinda fan does that make me?

You're right about the chip thing, but if I were to blame Messi for anything, it wouldn't be about how he missed the chip. It would be about his decision making in the first place.

I think he could have taken one more dribble, pass the keeper and just slot it home. He didn't need to chip the ball at all. I think he just made the wrong decision, he chose to do the hardest thing in that situation.
Not so sure about that. The angle would then be more tough to slot home and he'd run out of space. Plus as Osman said, Messi is somewhat of a master at the chip the keeper game. It just didn't come off right that time, which happens.

Who would you like to see in the semis?
Anybody but the English teams, of course. Don't like the Spanish and Italian sides either. Maybe an all French Final would be cool.

The only side I want winning the Champions League is Juventus. Fuck everybody else.

Because life is about taste, Frederique.

Xavi is the only player I like from Barcelona.
There were four players who I watched constantly and tried to emulate on the pitch. When I was fielded deeper in midfield, I tried to emulate Xavi. When behind the front runners, Rivaldo, Zidane and Del Piero were my role models. If only I was left footed and could hit the ball like Rivaldo, that would have been sweet. It was fun taking stuff from matches on television and trying to pull the same antics on the pitch. Those were the days.

That's the thing. Arsenal is hyped up just as much as Barca in the English football media that plagues the soccer shows in the States. They basically say Arsenal is just the English Barcelona, which is funny in multiple ways. So if you hate Barca, you should really hate Arsenal as well.

He had a poor match yesterday, but methinks you haven't really seen a lot of the player. I don't like him, but the Palladingo comparison isn't fair.

No, I shouldn't. Because I don't watch your US soccer shows, I don't even watch any. I get my take on the situation mainly from forums, so that's where I come out.

But the premise is still there. Most people here don't watch Catalonian shows, that isn't the point.
Yeah but the point is that people rebel against the view that is presented to them, in whatever form they get it. And that's why, even if we were to judge the situation exactly the same, we'd still differ on this.

Where I come from; every one in two people is a Barcelona fan. Anyone who's never seen a football game in his life, let alone play the game, is automatically a Barca fan. You don't see that with Arsenal. I've never met an Arsenal fan who isn't a genuine football fan too; I've met plenty of annoying Barca fans who don't even have a grasp on the fucking offside rule.

That's why I personally hate Barcelona, their supporters.

I guess. But one could argue that since we are speaking English here, we can all understand the views presented by the English media. *We both know this discussion is all up to personal opinion.

That's basically the case with Manure fans in this country. They don't know the game, so they pick Beckham's former team.
