Only when I'm provoked. :p But seriously, I see Werder winning this one even if he plays. Tottenham are nervous over this whole CL business, the first game against Young Boys was a clear indicator. Werder is a solid team with a lot of experience in the competition, their win is a sure things IMO.
Doesn't that imply a very nervous start of the match for Tottenham?
Why did you play 2/1 then? :D

I don't take betting seriously, I usually play long shots. I played 2-1 for the heck of it, because of the good coefficient. I can see Tottenham scoring an early goal and then falling apart afterwards. The other 3 pairs I have are:

Twente - Inter X-2
Coppenhagen - Rubin X
Lyon - Schalke X-1
Werder - Tottenham 2-1

For 10kn, I can get close to 17K. :D

But look at this ticket, I had for the qualifiers:

Armenia - Ireland X-2
Latvia(+1) - Croatia 2
Montenegro - Wales 1
Lithuania - Scotland X
Sweden - Hungary X-1
Island - Norway 1

10K for 10kn. I was checking the ticket and was amazed to see I've gotten all pairs right. The only pair left was Island - Norway and Island was leading 1:0 in the 55th minute. I couldn't believe my eyes, I already made plans for the money. Island lost 2:1. :D

No Juve doesn't makes it pathetic.
Name wise there are weaker teams than usual.
Liverpool, Juve and Porto are teams who are traditionally part of this competition but they aren't here this time. These three teams played 6 CL finals in the last 14 seasons. The 4th Spanish representative (in this case Sevilla) is also not playing CL.
Some traditional participants like Dinamo Kiev, Olympiacos, PSV Eindhoven, Fenerbahce/Galatasaray aren't playing.

I know, but does it makes it pathetic? Considering the level in which those teams left out are playing nowadays?

You're probably right, it may not look as impressing, but there must be a reason why those teams couldn't make it there in the first place.

Definitely.
It's very nice for the teams & their fans, but the likes of FK Partizan, Hapoel Tel-Aviv FC, FC København, MŠK Žilina, ... really don't do it for me.

The group stages of the CL have been rubbish for years.

Only one or two of the eight usually end up being interesting.

Make the whole thing knockout format.

That way the top teams have to perform well from the outset, because one slip up against a super-motivated lesser team will result in them going out.

My avatar thrived on knockout football:

    Scottish Cup winner 1982, 1983, 1984, 1986
    League Cup winner 1976, 1985, 1989
European Cup Winners Cup winner 1983
    European Super Cup winner 1983

Nice, but we both know that UEFA will not willingly give up on +100m eur yearly. :)
    I know. :depressed

    Lyon - Schalke, you douche.

Meh, Lyon are a mess as of recent, it hasn't been as enjoyable as usual watching them. Though of course it will be one of the matches i will be watching, i won't watch any game exclusively, but mainly my focus will be on the Spuds game.
