Alonso shouldn't have too many problems in a home game. Especially when there's no Mandzu or Dybala.
Pretty cool we also have Thiago as an impact sub for more creativity in MF.
Kidding, I have a ton of respect for both Vidal and Alonso.
Truth is I would always want a midfield with more physicality and pace than we have lined up in that formation, pretty much regardless of the opponent.
I also don't trust Hernanes at all, but hopefully he comes up with a big day.
Vidal and Alonso completely shut down the center against BVB. Don't know how having Alonso over Thiago would dramatically weaken us. Our game is simply a little different then. I'm confident with both.
Alonso will give us more control.
There is nothing to love here. We are playing a formation that we are not used to with Wingsbacks as wingers and morata in the middle against a star studded team. That is in a game where we have to outscore these mutherfukers. We don't even have our midfielders in place.
That like Madrid playing Bayern using Marcelo and Caravajal instead of Ronaldo and Bale as LW and RW, and a midfield of Illaremendi and Casemiro.
If we win this, Pep has to resign and Allegri is God.
