Well what to say this was a bad performance i think , dissapointed about the result , much more dissapointed with the performance . Atletico did win la liga and got a CL final so it's not that strange to lose at them , but losing with 0 shots on target is preocupying . One thing i noted is how we always seemed to be in inferiority while we attacked and some times we were in inferiority when defending . Seeing this situation one may think that we would be concentrating in the mid and controlling it , but that didn't go that well either .

It is impressive how these fuckers can run endlessly , i wonder how long they can keep up doing it , because they are bound to get tired sometime .

We weren't allowed to do more. No substitution would have changed this fact. Their stamina is out of this world. The discipline in their play is admiring. They have excellent footballers, but not world class ones. Their results are about physical preparation and discipline.

I actually enjoyed the game. One can rarely see so much motivation and passion in the 2nd round of the group stage. It felt like a knockout match with so much at stake.
they have excellent footballers but allegri should have subbed vidal and lliorente from min 60 i mean it was if they were not playing and arturo made 2 good tackles others were just awful and he often held us when we were attacking and so much bad passes pereyra should have come in for him. As for lliorente I didn't see him at all he couldn't hold on to one ball couldn't react in time he's just out of form but i think this defeat goes to allegri for not reacting in time

The games general play was completely different, but our attack Vs a top defence reminded me of our games against Bayern even though our strikers were inferior then

We can barely make simple passes, we have 0 creativity and hardly any pace to trouble strong, organised defences.

exactly
i can´t understand people running riot because of "pussy tactics". the approach was right imo. we looked quite confident for the most part.
many teams came to the vicente calderon and tried to play an open game... guess how that worked out for them...
we defended well for the most part but created way too little. too many stupid mistakes in the final 3rd, combined with their excellent defence and their amok pressing -> 1:0 loss.
all together i think they just about deserved this result.

ref was horrid. when ansaldi pretty much put the ball up his ass and sat down at the corner flag i almost punched my tv...

And as much as I hate the 352, we have managed 10 goals in 5 games and no goals conceded in Italy. Not bad. The problem tonight was Llorente where in a game we need that one good chance in the box to get the goal and he could neither deliver that or provide it for someone else.

The guy is like Medusa, if you look at him, you and everything around you turns to stone.

How can we expect to score against top defences with no creativity and an absolute passenger upfront.
We won't face another team that defends like this. We might face superior attacks if we make the knockouts.

On another note, so far the results are similar to last year. We beat the outsider in Turin and we lose away to the group favorite. The outsider beats the dark horses on outsider's pitch. The difference is Olympiacos beat Atletico, while Galatasaray didn't beat Real.

It's crazy and I don't remember when was the last time I've seen this from another team. I'm not sure if I've seen it at all. The closest to this is 1995-1998 Juventus.
They'd be unstoppable if they had more talent to match their physicality.
Their pressing is unbelievable, every time our player had the ball there were at least 2 of ATM players on him sometimes even 3.

I'm not even gonna bother looking for the posts, cause you know it's true. I like how you only quote my posts where it looks like I'm doing a retarded attempt to defend this loss.

Edit: Just saw I wrote people - I meant certain people.
Sorry, I'm pissed about the game.

What saddens me is that I still think we could've won if we wanted to. Our approach of the second half was simply horrible.

Guys I don't think its about a lack of creativity per say - we have some players with pace and flair but they were on the bench. To be honest, the biggest issue is the mentality. I think Juve has some kind of inferiority complex in Europe. We almost give our European opponents TOO MUCH respect. We need to go out there and play Atletico just like we play every other team in Serie A - i.e go out there and win! I suspect we were just thinking - "yeh we are not creating any chances but neither are they so a point would be good". You won't win anything or go far in Europe with that attitude.
