See people? Another poster who understands football. Glad to see you also appreciated Llorente's effort today, JCK. He was a million times more useful to the team than Tevez.
The entire season Tevez has played with a drawn back role and it worked just fine but only today that role was pretty much useless as there was no way for him to rush into space or even see any space. The times that Llorente touched the ball close to the area he needed Tevez close to him to recover any ball but he was far away. The only times it happened it was Vidal who got it but he was extremely wasteful.

The comments in this thread are really enlightening as to the people who either don't watch football or suddenly view it completely differently when Juve are playing.

Atletico won La Liga last season, nearly won the CL and have already got a draw and two wins against Real Madrid with these tactic this season.

How anyone can be surprised at how the game went or be particularly critical of Juve is beyond me.
It seems that people forgot that it took Real a moment of magic by Di Maria to win the CL last season.

They didn't look like one tonight, but then again, it's only Chelsea who's really looking good.
How did they not look like a top 5 side tonight? They looked nearly impossible to score against. The best defensive team around should surely be considered a top 5 team.

Top 5 right now for me would be Real, Barca, Chelsea, Bayern and Atleti in no particular order.

@Red can we agree Tevez , Vidal and Pogba could have done more ?

I found them very wastefull with controlls and passing

Fucking thank you. I really don't get it. I just don't. Either people don't realise how strong Atleti are or they just expect miracles from Juve whenever we play. Last season's performances against Galatasaray and the other team whose name I can't spell properly were worthy of criticism. Tonight's effort in Madrid is not.
You do realize olympiakos beat them right? They aren't untouchable or else we shouldn't have bothered to fly over and strain our players before Roma, we didn't attack enough or sit back enough, we let them put us how they wanted, we could just have easily sat back and said, we are 3 points ahead come and get it, instead we played like we were at home and 3 points behind, and doing so put ourselves under pressure

Because they played against us. Our play in the final third is pretty meh (compared to the other good European teams).

And may I add that fucking Olympiakos scored three against them.

No team in the World, no selection of tactics and players should keep us or teams even 75% as good as us from having a shot. Period.

The result was acceptable, our quite frankly pathetic attacking display was not. But then this is nothing new and we all know we're missing the forwards to fix this particular problem.

It has nothing to do with our forwards. Our attacking play is too much depended on individual brilliance.

If the ref is guilt of anything it's not allowing the game to flow. Called way too many fouls and allowed the fans and players to dictate his decisions.
He played right into the hands of Simeone. It's just what he's perfected in grinding results against Barca and Real. Creating chaos, disrupting the game's rhythm, lapse of concentration in the opposition and exploiting that.

No team is untouchable and yes I know that Olympiakos beat them and scored three times. I also know that they've beaten Real Madrid twice already this season. I didn't watch their game against Olympiakos so I don't know how they approached it but I think it's safe to say they were probably more adventurous and open than they were against us and the other big teams they play. Plus Simeone wasn't on the bench for that game.

So what you're essentially saying is Atletico have god like powers and are perfect to the point that Juventus not registering a single shot on goal against them is good?

Might as well give every domestic and European trophy to Atletico now gents, because apparently they have transcended mere mortal teams and are at a point where they simply can not concede goals.

On another note, what was the score in matchday 1 with Atletico Madrid involved? I don't think they conceded a single shot on target there either.
Have you even read my post? have I mentioned that they are perfect to the point, that they cannot concede goals, what the hell? You have written your post like i've said that they were amazing today, that they have played super football, because if you really really really push your brains to the limit, and read again, you will see, that I have written that they were luckier, how the hell could they be amazing, if they had 2 shot on the target?

And about their game against Olympiacos, you are saying like no team have a bad game, and also like they were playing the same tactics that they played against us, really clap clap. comparing two totally different games.

And I really belive that Atletico are not better than us, because they certainly didn't prove that in today's match.

Anyways, I'm tired of discussing this game. It was frustrating and I just want to forget about it and smash those cunts in Turin. Goodnight everyone. Forza Juve

Yeah, in retrospect, this may have been a game where Juve would have been better off playing Llorente and Tevez right up against the opposition defence in the way they did last season.

Even if it still would have been hard for the forwards to do much, playing against two genuine strikers could have pulled Atletico's defence narrower, which might have opened some space out wide.

I'll be interested to see what Juve come up with in the second game against Atletico. Real Madrid and Barca have had umpteen goes at figuring out how to beat Atletico and they still haven't been able to come up with a plan that consistently works.

Allegri, over the course of a few games against Barca when at Milan, gradually crafted an excellent plan of how to stop them and that has become the blueprint for everyone to follow.

Atletico are clearly at the opposite end of the spectrum from Barca when it comes to tactics, but I'd expect Allegri figure out a way to be more penetrating in the second game.

I think I'd be targetting the space behind Ansaldi. I'd like to see Juve trying some of the classic diagonal balls over the top for Lichtsteiner to burst on to.

Getting players moving at pace from deep is always what I want to see when trying to break through a tough defence.

Even if all you do is scare Atletico into adjusting to block that, it might take a man out of the middle of the pitch and give Juve the chance to penetrate somewhere else.

Allegri picking evra in these games at left wing back over Asamoah purely (IMO) because it gives him the option to change to a flat back 4 if necessary is inexcusable.
It makes no other sense for him to be pushing Asa out of his regular spot.

So then why didn't we force them to be more adventurous? They needed the points..
